OSTARA TAKES TUESDAY NIGHT FEATURE AT BIG M East Rutherford, N.J...Ostara shipped over from New York to capture the featured $24,000 maiden special weight race at the Meadowlands on Tuesday night. Trained by Mike Hushion and ridden by Chuck C. Lopez, Ostara covered the six furlongs over a sloppy track in 1:13 2/5 and paid $5.20. It was two lengths back to runner-up Validcrown who completed an $8.40 exacta. Miss Island Whirl rounded out the top trio. The win was the first in six tries for the three-year-old filly by Gilded Time who now has lifetime earnings of $25,880 for owner Buckram Oak Farm.
