RUNAGATE TAKES THURSDAY NIGHT FEATURE East Rutherford, N.J...Runagate angled out at the top of the stretch before holding off the late charge of Candy Cane to capture the featured $20,000 claiming event at the Meadowlands on Thursday night. Trained by Gary Caple and ridden by Victor Molina, Runagate covered the mile and a sixteenth over a firm turf course in 1:42 3/5 and paid $10.60. Candy Cane completed a $64.80 exacta and bested Tantalize who was third. The win was the fourth in 12 tries this year for the three-year-old filly by Run Turn who now has lifetime earnings of $42,179 for owner Sub Rosa Stable.
