JERSEY JOE BRAVO NOTCHES 3,000 CAREER WIN East Rutherford, N.J...Jockey "Jersey" Joe Bravo booted home Flowers By Fax to capture his 3,000th lifetime victory at the Meadowlands Racetrack on Thursday night. A leader on the New Jersey circuit for the past decade, the 29-year-old rider has captured a total of 15 riding titles at the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority racetracks, eight at Monmouth Park and seven at the Meadowlands. "I can't believe I've gotten that many," said an elated Bravo following the accomplishment. "I'll just keep riding the best that I can and hope that the wins keep on coming." Bravo's mount Flowers By Fax covered the mile distance over the turf course in 1:36 1/5 and paid $4.40 as the favorite. Mato was a length back in second and completed a $29.40 exacta. Tantalize rounded out the top trio. While it was Bravo's 3,000th winner, it was the fourth in 13 lifetime tries for Flowers By Fax who is owned by Richard Englander and trained by Brian Brennan.
