GUESS TAKES TUESDAY NIGHT FEATURE AT BIG M East Rutherford, N.J...Guess and jockey Jose Velez, Jr. held on by a nose to capture the featured $24,000 maiden special weight race at the Meadowlands on Tuesday night. Trained by Bill Perry, Guess covered the six furlongs on a fast track in 1:12 1/5 and paid $8.80. Dixielandvalentine completed a $49.60 exacta and bested show horse Silver Streaker. The win marked the first in as many tries for the two-year-old daughter by Twining to give her earnings of $14,400 for owner Double Diamond Farm.
