LAVOY APPEARS TO BE OKAY AFTER SATURDAY SPILL

East Rutherford, N.J...Go to the Ink and jockey Shaun Bridgmohan waited on the far outside before sweeping to the lead at the top of the stretch and drawing off by a length to win the featured $45,000 Ready Jet Go Stakes at the Meadowlands on Saturday night.

Trained by Richard Stoklosa, the four-year-old filly by Crafty Prospector covered the six furlongs in 1:09 1/5, and paid $4.60. Lorline rallied for the place to complete a $15.60 exacta and bested Luricon by a neck.

The win was the third in six starts this year for Go to the Ink who now boasts a lifetime bankroll of $142,596 for owner Kaufman, Iselin and Double R Stable.

In the night's co-featured $45,000 Seton Hall Stakes, Quick 'n Smart made every pole a winning one by capturing the event by one and a 1/4 lengths over a late closing Star Suite. Snoopy's Last was placed third upon the disqualification of Barracouta who interfered with Riley's Heat through the stretch.

Trained by Doc Fisher and ridden by Joe Bravo, the four-year-old filly by Polish Numbers returned $10.60 and topped a $56.80 exacta. The time for the five furlongs over a firm turf course was :56 2/5.

In other racing action, jockey Rachel Lavoy was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center for pre-cautionary x-rays after her mount, Pleasure Diver, lost the jockey down the backstretch near the 5/8ths pole during the running of the second race.

"She has a contusion at the head of the left tibia," said Dr. Molinari, staff physician at the Meadowlands. "She also has a hemotoma of the left thigh and a bruised right shoulder. She'll be okay, but I wanted her to get checked out with some x-rays."

Lavoy was treated by Dr. Benson and released from the hospital at approximately 10:40 p.m. Her mount, Pleasure Diver returned to the barn and was reportedly okay following the incident.
