SWAMP WOLF CAPTURES THURSDAY FEATURE AT BIG M
East Rutherford, N.J...Swamp Wolf angled to the far outside turning for home to get up by a nose over Whirley in the featured $24,000 maiden special weight race at the Meadowlands on Thursday night.
 
Trained by Timmy Hills and ridden by Tommy Turner, Swamp Wolf covered the mile and 70 yards over a firm turf course in 1:40 3/5 and returned $5.60 as the favorite. Whirley completed a $17.60 exacta. Thorn Cat was third.
 
The win was the first in ten career tries for the three-year-old gelding by Wolf Power who now boasts earnings of $32,254 for owner Gregory Mascera.
