1 DANISH DURANGO Won the last time we saw him here and it was impressive. Usually races at a higher class level than this and likely prefers the bigger size track. Looks like the one to beat with versatile speed on the rail. Trainer: Good spot, good driver. Did not get around the turns at Freehold at all last week.
2 TROPICAL STORM BI Also getting some significant class relief tonight, but unlike #1, I can't say that he's better on the big track. Lifetime mark of just 1:55 on both half, and seven-eighths. Figures to stalk #1 and tries to kick home.
3 DIZZY RIZZY Certainly had a couple of nice tuneups down at Freehold on short rest, and fires back for third time in just seven days. These are much tougher horses than she faced down there. The big test coming tonight for HM.
4 SOUL TRAIN Another that looks like a small track specialist, and I can't say that he looks sharp right now, since being sick. Joe Lee will look to save some of that speed and try to launch a late bid. Not sure it's going to work.
5 S J BETTER DAYS A purchase out of Ohio for the connections? Just fair in the races up at Saratoga and I can't guarantee he can go faster here. Still, he looks better than some of these. Ideal post to sit and wait for a trip. Trainer: Had a good week.
6 LANDONFITZ Had several very successful efforts here this year. He is best as a one-run closer and I don't know how much pace we'll see in here. Might have just a bit too far to come? Hoping for some action to set up that kick.
7 FIJI Also has success here this year, plus he's got speed! Dave drove him on Hambo eve and had a tough trip. Must find a way to make it easier in here, but I suspect he'll stay close to the end. Also needs a knockout punch vs. #1.
8 STEMILT TOUCH Kelly Walker has a nice, reliable trotter here, but the horse is 0-12 thus far this season. That's a small knock, and the post is the second knock. Fiji will almost surely leave, so that's pressure right away. Tough call.

1 CAPRICE HILL It's hard to believe she has only one win so far this year, but that may change tonight. Been towing along in some track record level miles lately and this smaller field will help a lot. Likely to stalk #2, try to pounce. Trainer: Super effort while lacking room until late in world record time. Rail in compact field makes her close throughout mile.
2 OHO DIAMOND I still remember the mile from July 21, as that was such a dazzler! Can't really "fault" her since, and I'm anxious to see if she really is classy enough to beat these. Corey opted to the stablemate. Is that telling? Trainer: Got locked in the two-hole last week. Super good right now and hoping for a clear trip.
3 P L JILL Might have gone a bigger trip than her stablemate up at Tioga, but I thought Oho had a touch more class. She will sit and wait early, before beginning that grind. That's very hard to do in short field situation like this. Corey stuck here, however!
4 BROADWAY DONNA Unraced since Hambo Day, where she never really fired. So, that's a big problem of current conditioning level. I don't envision her "firing out," since she's had a few issues at the gate. Hard to be overly positive.

1 LOGETTA HANOVER Took a while to develop and she still might not be fully there, so to speak. Did bounce back slightly from the miscue two back, but I'd have to see a lot more speed before I could endorse.
2 SAMIS ROLIN STONE Not a very quick starter, so that usually puts her up against it. On positive side, she stays trotting and has experience over this track. Will hope to pass some of the tires ones in the drive.
3 HEY JUDY JUDY Put it all together with a real "eye opener" at the Meadows. Beat a nice filly too! Was it a fluke? Because she sure didn't show that kind of power leading up to that. I guess we'll find out tonight.
4 CHANEL ME Regressed into a tiring miscue last time at the Meadows, so that is a problem. Hasn't shown much consistency so far, but Takter has said he's had many sick horses this summer. Likely to show speed. How far?
5 PIRANHA FURY Here's one that's come along slowly for Nifty, and I really hate to see that scratch. So, she's now a month off. Not a quick starter either. Would need a little help to set one up from off the pace. Demand value.
6 DAB HANOVER I still remember her sparkling effort here in July and she did well in the Doherty. Likely heading right to the front tonight and if she's good, she can go all the way. The qualifier was perfect, so she's one to beat.
7 MEGADOLCE The other Nifty starter in here catches a bad break with the post. Plus, she's shown a lack of "winning habit" so far, with four runner-up finishes. With that said, she'll need a trip behind #6 and might not get it.
4 Fourth Race Entries
Picks: 5-3-1-8

1 DON DORADO Was in-to-go yesterday at Philly, which is after press time. If he raced, Ken will announce the line for us. Tons of back class here, but can he possibly be ready with last start of July 27? I have no idea...
2 SONG OF THE VALLEY Certainly left Ohio on a strong note. Might have sold in the sale out there for new east coast connections. With that said, she's got a lot to prove here and would need infinitely more speed. Is it coming?
3 WAR CRY HALL Actually having a good season, with more than a few fine efforts over this surface. Finally gets a break at the post draw and it can only help. Hechkoff should just try to repeat that Georgie Nap tried at Pocono. Trainer: Disappointing but nice enough second place finish last out. Would expect big effort here.
4 HO LATTA MUSCLES 5YO has a long way to go before we see him in winners circle here. Looks overmatched.
5 RAS SHAKINTHTBACON Trotters with speed are always dangerous! Got torched early in last Pocono try, but it might not take that much to fire out and get a trip here. Krivelin looks like a good fit. Hard to leave off the ticket here.
6 EXPLOSIVE YANKEE Up from Ocean City, Maryland off a big upset win, but it will take a whole lot more than that to repeat on this surface. I'm going to rate him a longshot, and see if he can trot fast enough. I'm not so sure.
7 CELEBRITY STIMULUS Here's the third member of our potential speed party. We've seen him cut the mile several times here this season, but he does sometimes get a little leg weary. Drew the tougher post. That won't help.
8 CYPRESS POINT Down from Plainridge for this. Left this area after that good-looking win at Pocono. Also packs a fair turn of speed, but this trip could be a lot different. Or, he could just set up mayhem. Have to decide on that.
9 MR RIDGETAKER Had the tough trip up at Tioga and paid the price and guess what? It'll probably happen again. Might be time to give this gelding a trip from off the pace. Let's see if he can rally.
10 PRICELESSPOSSESION Seems to race much better on a bigger oval. Yes, that's a solid second here on Hambo eve at odds of 69-1. From post 10, in field full of speed, I don't see how she gets into it, but ya never know!

1 DEFIANTSNOWFASHION The hopples went on for most recent try and it produced immediate results! Homebred could be turning the corner here, so I will take a good, long look at her on the track. This is NO easy spot!
2 PINK CRUSH Not sure she's quite up to this task, but I will note her last start was a mildly improved one. I'm going to pass tonight, but watch for future consideration.
3 MOOSHKA STRIDE Came out of the box with a bang back in June! Raced just fine on sloppy track here in July. Has benefit of a qualifier down at Philly. Have to think she'll be primed and ready for this test. Post edge on #5,7.
4 STRENGTH OFA WOMAN Finally put things together, overpowering a weaker field up in Canada. Finds her way back to Jersey and into a very tough spot. She's a closer, and there is lots of speed in here. Any smooth trip helps a lot!
5 SEVEN KARATS Was super here on July 28, and then looked home free when she broke after that. I see another miscue over the half up at Saratoga. Is she tailing off, or just needs a big track? That is a very good question.
6 VENUS DUHARAS I guess we could say Dan Rawlings "stole" that race at the Meadows. Soft half and decent sprint home. That's not going to happen in this race. She will have to earn it, but coming along nicely for Team Takter.
7 BASQUIAT Might be the key to the race, because she seems versatile enough to leave, or take back. See how Hey Judy Judy did in the 3rd for a small gauge, but this filly threw in a flat effort last time. Will need her best tonight.

1 FEAR FACTOR Finds his way to NJ after prepping out in Indiana. The two local races have been just fair and that's simply not enough speed to get it done. Will have to find more power to beat these at a price.
2 WESTERN BEACHBOY If you take the approach that he's finally "coming to his speed," this is a contender. The inner post will keep him close to the action and he's probably about ready to go in 53. Big test coming in this spot.
3 POINTS NORTH Looks like much the one to beat against this group. He finally put it all together at Philly and was facing bearcats before that. That, plus an inside post stamp him as the fave. Let's see if he has any early speed. Trainer: Been off, battling virus. Healthy now and probably needs a start.
4 AMERICAN INFLUENCE A little late to the party, but I can't fault what I see on paper. It's never easy to do what he did in debut off just a couple of slowish qualifiers. Might have real talent, and will need it to beat #3. Nice colt!
5 SHADOW CAT Unlike #2,3, who are heading in the right direction, we have the Cat who seems to be having issues. Pilot's job tonight is simply to get him around on-gait. That might be a problem, so he looks like a longshot.
6 SURFING TIDE Exits a pretty "key" race, so let's take an extra look. Was impeded, so we give him a pass for that. He was also 62-1. Won't offer that kind of value here, plus he has to overcome a tough-looking post. Needs big mile.
7 SOMEBADDUDE This dude was okay here back in July. Actually was better than the line on paper looks. Took a speed try last time at Pocono and got caught. Will need all of that speed tonight, just to get into the game. Tough call.

1 POOF OF CREDIT Was learning his lessons well here earlier this summer and then showed he probably didn't like the smaller size tracks. Back to Club Med and in ideal spot to sit, stalk and grind. Very hard to leave off ticket.
2 FARSETTI HANOVER Here's a colt that's been good since day one! Hasn't done anything wrong yet to change that opinion and had the perfect setup for this up at Tioga. Nice confidence builder. Likely to one to beat again.
3 LINDYINOVERDRIVE Interesting homebred here. I'm not surprised he's got speed, with that pedigree. Coming along nicely for Team Lindy and he fits here. Has enough speed. Now, we'll see if he packs the mile track stamina.
4 FASHION WILL Finding the stakes level company a bit much over past month. Still, you have to respect the speed, and fact he doesn't make mistakes. Only needs to learn to go a little faster and that could easily come. Trainer: Had a good week and big track should help him.
5 MIDNIGHT EXPRESS S Solid mile against weaker up at Vernon and then Ake took a shot against legitimate stakes company and got run over. With that said, there is a TON of speed in here. Not sure this one has the stamina.
6 CHUCKY DE VIE If I remember correctly, this guy looked a little hard to control when last seen here. Seems like Ryder has taken care of that and now it's a matter of whether he can trot fast enough. This is MUCH tougher spot tonight. Trainer: Racing well and getting better with experience.
7 STORY TIME HANOVER Been okay so far, but probably one of the many Takter horses that have been sick this summer. With that said, his qualifier was just okay and this post is not. Facing a long, uphill climb from out here.
8 VOSS VOLO A little bit of a mystery here, since he's yet to try the big track. Has the pedigree for it, but like others in here, has to prove he can go faster and provide a lot more stamina. Obviously, the post hurts too!

1 MANSOME Appeared to be going okay until he got sick last month. Last start at Pocono was against a good-looking winner in #7, but the Man was no threat. Has the rail and figures to tow along again. Will have to find more late. Trainer: Seems like a nice colt that's been battling sickness on and off, but acting good now. Might need a start.
2 VIRGIN GOLD Prepped here, then went out to Indiana and simply wasn't good. Back to NJ, with a decent qualifier on view. Is he ready to put it all together? I probably need to see one more improved effort before I can consider.
3 WHATS HIS IS MINE A little bit of a late bloomer for Team Harder, but not bad. Exits a pretty fast mile for Philly, but he was keeping up, not charging. Figures to offer value here, if you think he can go faster. I'm not sure yet.
4 SUDDENLY SAM Got a couple weeks off after that disastrous start in July. Qualified okay twice, and then had useful tuneup in fast race at Pocono. Is Sam ready to show us his best? I'm inclined to think improved effort here.
5 WINSTON Chased a good one two back. Found his friends on the drop earlier this week. Certainly has plenty of speed to grab good position. No reason not to think he can't threaten. Corey's choice. All systems go! Trainer: Put up good effort last time. Hoping he adapts to mile track.
6 FASHIONONTHEBEACH Hasn't found that winning habit just yet, and Georgie Nap certainly gave him a chance in both recent races. Might not be in the same league with likes of #7, but can easily get a piece with better trip.
7 I'M A BIG DEAL Colt was very good here in July. Hasn't had a whole lot of luck since, but trust me, the talent is there! This is a great spot for him to step up and shine and I don't think the post will hold him back. The one to beat. Trainer: Could go big at any time.
8 CLOSING BELL We're seeing a LOT of scratch sick lines on the 2yo's this year. Came back with a pretty good qualifier, but lands into a very rough spot tonight from post eight. I don't think early speed is his game, so let's watch one.
9 Ninth Race Entries

1 CRACKBACK JACK Shows breaks in three of his last four, so that's a no-no for me. There is talent in this tank, but John B. will have to find it, and get it under control. Hasn't been the case just yet.
2 MEADOWBRANCH RICKY What happened last time at the Meadows? Prior to that, he was pretty solid and showing good speed. Barn listed Andy Mac, but didn't get him. I guess I'd like to see speed again, improved stamina.
3 DOVER DONY Hard to get a real read on this fella, just like his stablemate. That last miscue can't be considered a positive and he won in slow time before that. Seems to have a ways to go.
4 GLIDE IN THE WIND Another coming off a scratch and poor effort. Just have to pass for now.
5 LINDY'S BIG BANG Except for the one mistake at Pocono, we can't fault this gelding. Packs a nice turn of speed. Usually keeps up and owns a minor stakes win to his credit. Andy Mac chose this one over #2. Big chance w/trip. Trainer: Disappointing last start, but has ability to bounce back.
6 U NEED STONES Impressed throughout the sires stakes, but remember those were smallish fields where the competition was weaker. Didn't pack enough punch in the Haughton elim. Got some time off. Good qualifier.
7 BROTHERS N ARMS Little bit of a gap between last two starts, which could indicate sickness. It wasn't bad try at Pocono, considering that, plus he was impeded. Unfortunately, gets saddled with another tough post. Your call?
8 MUSCLE FASHION Was going along just fine until that last mistake. He doesn't look like a real quick starter, so this post presents a big problem. Andy liable to be careful with him, coming off that break. I'll wait for later.
9 TRAK Team Miller colt shows a lot of promise so far. That was big step up in company last time and he handled it well. Another that might not be quick off the wings, so at mercy of pace and trip. Won't be easy out here.

1 ALEXA'S POWER A neck and a nose separate this filly from unbeaten status, but she figures to get the acid test here against the likes of #5,7. The pole is of course, a plus and she seems versatile to go either way. In line for great trip. Trainer: Raced super on Monday. Tonight is first time on the big track.
2 SHE SAID SO Owns one upset win, but has been solid in just about every recent appearance. The inner post will keep her close and I suspect she'll kick home nicely like every other time. Could be very usable price play with Jeff.
3 SWEETEST DEVOTION Has offered plenty of speed before, but not always the needed stamina. Another of the many who show a sick scratch, so be careful. Last qualifier was just okay, so I have my reservations on readiness.
4 MISWAVE HANOVER Marcus stays loyal by choosing this lass over #1. I really don't know what to make of her, showing those breaks, so take a good, long look out on the track first, before you consider betting.
5 REIGN ON ME Did just fine when seen here earlier. Did just fine throughout Pennsylvania. Back into perfect spot on big track, since she likes to grind. Likely to one to fend off late, if they can. Offers a fairly big kick at the end.
6 KJ'S BEKAH Zipped through the state of New York so far and I'm always impressed by the young ones that prove they can handle those smaller tracks. Went 54 up at Vernon, so that's plenty of speed. Gives the faves a real tussle.
7 I'M TRIGGER HAPPY Absolutely super up at Tioga, and that was after missing time! Remember, this is only her third real start and she appears to have loads of ability. Only knock is the post, because we haven't seen her fire out yet.
8 LADY DUDETTE Another late to the party, so to speak after getting sick earlier this summer. Certainly prepped well up at home base of Vernon and deserves a shot like this. Unfortunately, she caught a real tough division. Is she good enough?
11 Eleventh Race Entries

1 ELLA IS AWESOME They thought enough of her to go all the way up to Canada for the stakes elim. Drew poorly and that didn't work out. Back to more reasonable spot here from rail. Still has to prove she can pace in 53 or so.
2 LADY DAY Comes out of that sparkler by I'm Trigger Happy. I guess we can upgrade chances slightly, if that one won again. Still looks like a longshot in this spot. Sits in and tows along, hoping for a share.
3 SOLITARY Finished well ahead of #2 up at Tioga. Same situation. If Trigger Happy impressed in the 10th, you have to raise the profile of this lass. She's got the speed, but must find a tad more mile track stamina. That's not easy.
4 AMERICAN Z TAM Looks like the other longshot in here, having not come close yet. Needs more experience.
5 SANDY'S BEACH This was Andy Mac's choice over #3, so keep that in mind. Tough post last time at Philly, so excuse that. Gritty effort in fast time before that. Plenty of talent here and the ideal post to do whatever pilot wants.
6 KEYSTONE KRYSTAL It's taken a while to get her to the race and she doesn't seem quite ready for this just yet.
7 BLUE GROTTO Hinted at major ability during baby race time. Had a rough go of it up at Tioga, but that's excusable. Back to big track where she offered a major finishing punch. I guess it's all about the trip from a difficult post.
8 ALDINE HANOVER Put it all together last time over at Pocono. Note the improving trend on a filly that probably just needs some confidence. I'm anxious to see if Marcus sends, or waits in this spot. Lots of other "closers" in here.
9 KJ'S JUSTINE Was going along nicely until she had the tough trip at Yonkers. I don't know what to make of last start, so tread with caution here. If she's good, Jimmy will fire her out, because she won't win it from last. Tough call.
