H Horse Comment
1 ROCKNROLL REALITY ($45,000 – LEX-SEL) Beaten by a promising Toscano-trainee at Tioga. This is a ½ brother to Western Guy.
2 JET AIRWAY ($36,000 – HBG) Was able to stay with Always B Miki and slingshot by that talented pacer. Put up a very fast mile, too.
3 TWIN B SPEEDO ($27,000 – HBG) A kin to many winners including Sea Dragon ($330k). Two strong efforts on NYSS. Major threat.
4 PIERCE ($80,000 – HBG) Dam was a 6-figure earner with a 1:52.1 mark. Will need to go faster here. Hard to ignore these connections.
5 ARI’S TURN ($85,000 – HBG) A kin to Glowing Report ($2.1M), Perfect Union ($723k), Urgent Action ($567k). Must step it up off debut.
6 OFFICIAL WARNING (Homebred) Dam earned over $250k. Siblings have a modest profile. Hasn’t done anything wrong yet. Tough field.
7 ROCK OUT ($40,000 – HBG) Comes from a modest family. Improved in his 2nd start. Not exiting the strongest of races. A cut below.
8 THAT’S MY OPINION ($350,000 – HBG) Beaten by a potential star last time. Dam is a kin to Big Jim. Powerful pedigree. Major player.
9 FAIRYTALE PRINCE ($120,000 – HBG) Dam is a ½-sister to Wordly Beauty and Worldly Treasure, dam of Captaintreacherous. Pedigree!
10 BELIEVEINTHESPIRIT ($50,000 – HBG) Comes from a solid family of pacers. Developing slowly. Not leaning to this corner.
2 Second Race Entries
Picks: 4-1-1B-6

1 LIFETIME PURSUIT ($60,000 – LEX-SEL) Comes from the family of The Chancellor ($650k). Looks the part of a star. Strictly, one to beat.
1A LOVE DETECTIVE ($11,000 – HBG) Comes from a modest family. Has out-raced her pedigree so far. Part 2 of a monstrous entry.
1B MOONLIGHT IN MIAMI ($100,000 – HBG) Dam is a ½ sister to Pampered Princess ($1.6M). Hard not to like what she has shown thus far.
2 FORTUNES OF FABLES ($60,000 – HBG) Dam was a good one, earning almost $600k. Showed good improvement last time.
3 STEPPIN OUT ($1,500 – HBG) Comes from a modest family, hence the sale price. She has already out-raced that pedigree. Blue collar.
4 STRUCK BY LINDY ($32,000 – HBG) Dam is a ½-sister to Dream Vacation ($616k). From the family of Victory Dream. Love what I see.
5 PACIFIC WINDS K (Homebred) She has done nothing wrong so far. Key homebred has been faster than most of these. Logical player.
6 COOLER SCHOONER (Homebred) This is a full-sister to Broadway Schooner a Hambo Oaks winner of $885k. Must rebound off layoff.
7 DANIELLE S (Homebred) Comes from a very modest family. Has made a break in each pari-mutuel start. A longshot to make the final.
8 HEAVEN’S DOOR ($90,000 – HBG) Comes from an honest family with multiple 6-figure earners. Showed excellent speed last time.
3 Third Race Entries
Picks: 5-1A-6-4
H Horse Comment
1 GREAT SOCIETY ($50,000 – LEX-SEL) Dam made over $275k. He showed improvement behind a potential star. Cycling forward now.
1A DERBY ($20,000 – HBG) Comes from a family with multiple 6-figure earners. Showed good speed in Canada. Looms a major player.
2 MUSCLE MIDAS ($300,000 – LEX-SEL) Dam is a kin to many 6-figure earners. Raced admirably in the NJSS. Seems to be improving.
3 RAGAZZO DOLCE (Homebred) She is yet to live up to her all-star pedigree. Waiting for signs of improvement. Longshot for now.
4 QUIKWIT ($100,000 – LEX-SEL) A kin to a pair of $300k earners. His last race was a bit better. Battles it out to make the final.
5 SOUTHWIND SPIRIT ($105,000 – LEX-SEL) ½-brother to Southwind Serena ($385k) was out-gamed in the NJSS Final. Major contender.
6 WELL BUILT ($30,000 – LEX-SEL) Dam was a kin to a pair of 6-figure earners. Didn’t get involved in the NJSS Final. Expect better.
7 CAMBRIDGE ($32,000 – HBG) From the family of Musical Victory. Has shown good early speed. Will need it from this draw.
4 Fourth Race Entries
Picks: 4-3-7-9
H Horse Comment
1 DAVE BRIGGS ($27,000 – LEX-SEL) Full-brother to Lhasa Muscles ($457k). Showed solid improvement at Pocono. Major connections.
2 SHEER ACTION ($25,000 – LEX-SEL) Comes from a modest family. Never made the gate last time. Must rebound in this spot.
3 BEFORE I DIE ($25,000 – LEX-SEL) Half-brother to 3 six-figure earners. Exits the NJSS. Improvement appears likely. Must be included.
4 CHOCOLATE DAY ($17,000 – LEX-SEL) Dam earned over $600k. From the family of Kick Tail ($730k). Expect a much improved effort.
5 HOLIDAY SPIRIT ($3,500 – HBG) Comes from the family of Workaholic ($870k). Has not started for over a month. Looms a longshot.
6 SCACCO MATTO (Homebred) Full brother to Banco Solo ($171k). Not a bad effort at Tioga last time. Seems to be improving.
7 ANGELS RANSOM (Homebred) Comes from a modest family as well. Regressed into a break last time. Might be able to improve here.
8 RANNOCH MOOR ($6,000 – HBG) Dam earned over $200k. Yet to break the 2:00 barrier. Looks like a longshot in this group.
9 TOSS CARTWRIGHT (Homebred) Dam is a ½-sister to Flawless Bluestone ($589k). Showed solid improvement in his 2nd baby race.
10 SEVERUS HANOVER ($20,000 – HBG) Dam is a ½ sister to Spellbound Hanover ($962k). Easy winner last time out. Must stay trotting.
5 Fifth Race Entries
Picks: 1A-4-3-1
H Horse Comment
1 SONG IN MY HEART ($80,000 – LEX-SEL) From the family of Royal Troubador ($900k). Sharp winner in the PASS last out. Nice horse.
1A FATHER PATRICK ($105,000 – LEX-SEL) The brother to Pastor Stephen ($1M) got a little lazy in the stretch last out. I think he rebounds.
2 KAPOW HANOVER ($90,000 – HBG) Dam is a kin to Aunt Mel ($300k). Was not as prominent in his most recent start. Fringe player.
3 NUNCIO ($7,000 – HBG) Talk about a bargain. He has gotten off to a great start. Can he beat Father Patrick again? Looms a contender.
4 MUSCLESPRINCTONIAN (Homebred) Dam won The Hambletonian Oaks. Hasn’t been bad in his last pair. I expect him to be closer.
5 JJ ALEX ($20,000 – HBG) Sports a modest pedigree. Added Lasix last time, but stopped in the stretch. That concerns me. Passing.
6 DONATO’S WISH ($105,000 – LEX-SEL) Half-brother to Algiers Hall ($735k). Raced better at Tioga last time. Could be moving forward.
7 CLIMB HIGHER ($6,000 – LEX-SEL) Adds the trotting hobbles for this. They kept him flat last time, but he needs to go faster.
6 Sixth Race Entries
Picks: 3-9-1-10
H Horse Comment
1 BLADE RUNNER Picked up a check last time, but needs to make up 9 lengths on Ideal Smile. Other tough ones to deal with, too.
2 GO GO RAIDER Exits the same race as Blade Runner and finished right alongside that gelding. Battling it out for a minor award.
3 IDEAL DANNY Exploded last time for Nick Surick and won going away. Can he duplicate that mile? He is a prime contender in this field.
4 CULLENS BLUE JEAN Finished in a dead heat with Blade Runner last time. I put this gelding in the same category as that horse.
5 ART’S JIMMY RAY Loomed up boldly last time but flattened out in the stretch. Just 1 for 14 on the year. Looks like a longshot now.
6 WILDRIDGE SAM Did not factor last time and has to make up considerable ground on the favorites in here. Looms as a big price.
7 MIGHTY ART Continues to pick up minor awards but will need to take a step forward to contend for the win. Using underneath.
8 IDEAL SMILE This gelding certainly packs plenty of speed and he raced pretty well last time. Looms a pace factor at the very least.
9 MAMBO ITALIANO He was an impressive winner over First Impression last time. That foe is back as is a new threat in Ideal Danny.
10 FIRST IMPRESSION Not sure he can beat Mambo Italiano after what I saw last week, not to mention Ideal Danny. Using him underneath.
7 Seventh Race Entries
Picks: 5-7-8-4
H Horse Comment
1 LEXIS AMIGO Beaten 16 lengths in that qualifier. He has proven success here, but this field is particularly tough. Looking elsewhere.
2 SWAN IN A MILLION Moved way up in class last time and did not race badly. This will be a bit easier. Looks like a contender here.
3 IL MAGO Appears as though he reached a level at Yonkers that was just too tough. He needs to turn things around. Offers a price.
4 BROADWAY ROCKS Not a bad mile last time, but he has to pick it up a bit to beat From Above. That said, he is worth including again.
5 MY MVP He has been racing well lately and he likes the bigger tracks too. Wouldn’t be surprised by a solid effort here. A logical player,
6 TEMPLE OF DOOM Beaten about 10 lengths by the mare to his outside last time. Needs to pick things up a bit from here. Fringe player.
7 BEATGOESON HANOVER That was a solid try last time and she has been in tough at times this year. She fits in this field. A contender.
8 FROM ABOVE He will likely be coming from last. Can he pass this entire field? While he must be included, he will have work to do late.
8 Eigth Race Entries
Picks: 7-3-8-5
H Horse Comment
1 CASIMIR CAMOTION Recent form just has not been there. He raced a bit better last time to pick up a check, but that is his ceiling.
2 CC RACY Enters this with similar form as Casimir Camotion and I cannot endorse him to contend for more than a minor award.
3 BLUE STRIKE Loomed up boldly last time but tired in the stretch. He was the beaten favorite in that last mile, too. He can rebound here.
4 LITTLE GOLD RING Just an even effort last time, although he took some play at 6/1 there. He can contend for a minor award in here.
5 BOBJACKS ANGLE A Closed willingly last time and he is in pretty good form, too. Just 1 for 21 on the year so I will use accordingly.
6 HIGHLAND TERRIFIC He was really disappointing last time and off that last mile I would need to see some improvement. Passing now.
7 STAND BY CAM Out-raced his odds last time and maybe he is starting to turn the corner. Looks like an intriguing value play in here.
8 DOUBLETROUBLE He is going to take plenty of money here as he was the odds-on favorite last time. I will try to beat him on top, though.
9 GET JAZZED He is a slow starter and I am a bit concerned he will just have too much left to do. Looking elsewhere for my top selection.
10 CORAL SNAKE That was an adventurous mile last time and he really did out-perform expectations. Not sure this is going to be easier.
9 Ninth Race Entries
Picks: 9-5-10-3
H Horse Comment
1 MY CAROLINE (Homebred) Comes from a modest family with a couple of six-figure earners. Making slow and steady proIngress.
2 SEASIDE GAL ($2,500 – HBG) Dam is a ½ sister to Kindly Poet ($913k). She was better last time but still has ground to make up.
3 IDEAL HELEN (Homebred) Interesting to see Andy Miller elsewhere. Endured a tough trip in the NJSS Final. A logical contender again.
4 REFLECTED ART (Homebred) Raced better at Ocean Downs. Dam is a ½ to Going Native ($246k). Needs to go faster here.
5 ROCKINGCAM PARK ($7,500 – HBG) Picked a bad time to make a break in the NJSS Final. Expect a much better effort here. The chalk.
6 DANIELLES ALL ACES ($22,000 – HBG) She was a bit overmatched in the NJSS, and will have to improve to beat the best of these.
7 LADY BE GREAT ($20,000 – LEX-SEL) Out of a great race mare, but her early starts suggest she needs more time to develop.
8 ROSIE DE VIE ($60,000 – LEX-SEL) Raced much better in Restriced company at Ocean. Need to see her improve a few more lengths.
9 CAVIART SHELLY (Homebred) From the family of Allamerican Native ($1.3M). Won at first asking for a patient barn. That’s impressive.
10 CUT A DEAL (Homebred) Raced well in the NJSS and I think she has the speed to overcome the draw. Must be left in the discussion.
10 Tenth Race Entries
Picks: 6-2-9-1
H Horse Comment
1 KRISTIN’S VICTORY She was closing late but she did hang a bit in the stretch as witnessed by that 30-second quarter. Needs more late.
2 LEAVE YOUR MARK His last two starts were better and they were against solid fields. Draws well for this and is in a good spot here.
3 CAITIR Was a fairly well-beaten 3rd last time and that was a rather slow final quarter. Still has some ground to make up at this point.
4 RINGSIDE WINNER Her form has not been sharp recently and at this point it would take a form reversal for her to contend here.
5 WYGANT PRINCE Handled well in The Billings, but this gelding is still just 1 for his last 42. Hard to consider him a win contender.
6 THROUGH THE NIGHT Has been racing well at Saratoga and we have seen this barn show up in a spot like this and win this year. Maybe.
7 MERRY MAIDEN With the exception of the miscue, you know what you get with this mare. She will contend for an exotics spot at this level.
8 BEAU JOE Gelding has seen his form go in the wrong direction and he has not panned out since the ship from Maryland. Needs more.
9 PALM BEACH CHIC A very unique and interesting move going from a NYSS to a C-2 event. Also a 3YO filly facing older. Interesting.
10 CAUTIOUS OPTIMISM Does not have the speed required to overcome this outside post and is now 0 for 22 on the year. Not for me.
11 Eleventh Race Entries
Picks: 2-8-7-6
H Horse Comment
1 HOW ‘BOUT A SMOOCH The good news is she is coming off an overdue win. The bad news, this is much, much tougher. Needs best.
2 RAMONA DISOMMA That first over trip is not her best game and she is still racing very well. With a trip, she is a major threat to win.
3 MISS ANNIE J Andy gives this mare a big call opting here off an even effort. Heading to the lead again. Not sure she can hold them off.
4 ABROKENART HANOVER Her last effort was both disappointing and puzzling. The good news, believers will get a much better price.
5 SAM SWIFTY She has won 2 of her last 3 starts but her win here came at the C-2 level against an OK field. This is a tougher task.
6 LIGHTNING PAIGE Pulled off a major upset last time showing a sudden form reversal. In this field, the price should be nice once again.
7 SPEND IT ALL Interesting to see Miller opt off this very sharp filly. She is a 3YO facing older, but she has beaten older often. Has talent.
8 ENDURING DELIGHT Gets some class relief after having faced some very good mares recently. Likely favorite will try to mow them down.
12 Twelfth Race Entries
Picks: 1-9-7-4
H Horse Comment
1 ALL TROT Does a big effort here springboard this gelding into a start in The Hambletonian? Either way, he is the one to beat in this field.
2 HOLD ON TIGHTLY Nice effort last time and he has won half his starts. Seems to be ready to take a step forward. Might use a bit.
3 CANTAB JONES Winner of that last mile appeared like a sure-fire winner of a Yonkers Trot Elim when he broke. A marginal contender.
4 WINBAK SULLIVAN Making his 2nd start back off a near one year layoff. Made a break last time to. But, it is Burke. Total wild card.
5 SUPER CLASSIC Recent form has not been sharp and this gelding is just 1 for 17 lifetime. I think we need to watch a start here.
6 KIJAFA Pulled off a surprising upset last time. Now this filly tackles a tougher group. Can she repeat? I think she needs to go faster.
7 LOUISE KEMP She has raced OK in the NYSS lately and technically, this is a move down in class. Figures to factor for at least a share.
8 M C’S DIAMOND Last couple of starts have been on the dull-side. Looks like a longshot once again until he shows a form reversal.
9 HERE’S JOHNNY Continues to race well for the most part and seems to fit well in this spot. Has some versatility to him as well.
10 TORNADO Does not pack much early speed so the draw could be an issue. Last pair of starts seem to be on the improve though.
13 Thirteenth Race Entries
Picks: 6-5-3-1
H Horse Comment
1 PERSUASIVE HANOVER Got parked out to the ¼ last time at Yonkers, so I think we toss out that last mile. Prior form was OK.
2 CELINE’S BEST Enters this off a layoff of over 2 years. Just one qualifier so far, so I recommend watching this start and tabbing for later.
3 LIZ’S LIL K K She looks like a very tough customer in this field. Seems to always be at the mercy of the pace and trip. Short price coming.
4 SUCHA BAD GIRL Not a bad try last time from post 10 and I like the speed that she showed. Will not be 53-1 this time around. A player.
5 MY IDEAL That was a sharp effort last time and see how How Bout A Smooch did earlier. Draws well and fits in this field nicely.
6 DAWN’S LEGACY That was not a bad effort considering it was her first start off the layoff. If she can build on that effort, she is a player.
7 GOIN BROKE Last pair of starts have not been particularly encouraging and has just 1 win on the year. Needs a trip from here.
8 FANCY PANTS SANDY Raced better last time at Yonkers, but that was from post 1 and she still tired in the stretch. Looking elsewhere.
9 LIL MISS BOURBON Hard to determine where that Ocean Downs line fits in here. I recommend watching this start and evaluating.
10 GE’S JODY The outside post did not work out last time and that is discouraging. I think she is up against it from here. A longshot.
