Picks: 6-3-5-9
H Horse Comment
1 THE FRESH PRINCE I like that she was more involved last time, but still didn’t factor. Brennan gets the call tonight. Candidate to improve.
2 ICY CHISEL Yet to earn a check in 6 starts and showed runaway speed in that qualifier. Expect some equipment changes for more control.
3 SUZELLE HANOVER Just had too much to do last time. That field was also better than this group. Moves inside and can bounce back.
4 HOWE’S MAGIC Well-beaten last time and although he stayed flat, I will need to see a better effort before I can consider.
5 TO THE GOOD LIFE Glad to see her right back in following the scratch. Ideal post tonight. Note she is facing males for the first time.
6 DUOLOTTACHEATIN Looks like two fillies will be favored here. Barn simply cannot miss and off that qualifier with Lasix, she’s very tough.
7 JUST CHOCOLATE Sat along the pylons but didn’t offer any response in the stretch. Now 0 for 11 and Andy chose off. Longshot.
8 STIRLING BULLET Never got close in that qualifier and this gelding will need to take a major move forward to contend here.
9 BAS HANOVER That was an encouraging first start for his young career. Will need to improve to win, but that is a distinct possibility.
10 CANTAB JONES Alagna seems to be having a tough time figuring him out. Goes for top connections, but I want to see him stay flat.
2 Second Race Entries
Picks: 5-8-6-3
H Horse Comment
1 BIG SKY ANGELINA Just not seeing enough from this mare to make a confident play here. I need to see an improved effort first.
1A THAT’S A NO NO Did not get close last time and draws an identical wide post. Maybe we will see some speed? Longshot either way.
2 TOUCH OF CHARM Concerned that this mare’s early speed seems to have disappeared upon leaving Freehold. Form has dulled also.
3 STURDY AS HALL Shows a decent race at Freehold, but that was a 2:01 mile. Lone start here wasn’t terrible. Maybe an exotics use.
4 WILD SMILE Owns some decent miles this year and I like the fact that she is 4 for 11. Still, she would need to improve to win this.
5 PEGASUS BLUE CHIP Gelding had been facing better for much of the year. Note he was 3/1 when he broke last week. Must stay trotting.
6 CAPTAIN PRIMEAU Has gone some big miles here and this looks like a spot where he can jump up. Cannot be ignored despite 0 for 11.
7 BALTIMOR AS Another that was OK in his last here but he too, will need to be better to win this. Might toss on the bottom of trifectas.
8 SCHALOM G Two weeks ago the Big M stretch was too long. Last week, he trotted out of his skin. Off that mile, he is a deserving favorite.
9 MC TINY’S HOPE Earned a confidence builder last time out at Tioga. That’s a sharp mile for that track. Expect to see some speed here.
10 KENDA Exits a fairly strong qualifier won by Cedar Dove. Expected this mare to follow along and hope to earn a share. Longshot.
3 Third Race Entries
Picks: 10-7-6-5
H Horse Comment
1 PARLIA HANOVER We all know this barn can wake up a trotter with little to no warning. Price will be right for believers. Tough call.
2 SHE’S NUTZ Filly is yet to race back to that qualifier, but Toscano can get one to turnaround in a hurry. See how she looks on the track.
3 VALLAS COWGIRL I don’t like the fact that she lost ground in her most recent start, coming off a qualifier that she broke. Longshot.
4 ALSTON HALL Making her 2nd start back off the layoff for a good trotting barn. I wouldn’t be shocked to see some improvement here.
5 RICHESS OBLIGE S Although that last qualifier doesn’t look too good, keep in mind how hot this barn is. Would not be quick to dismiss.
6 MASSMANIAN DEVIL Filly raced really well last time behind a classy filly. I am concerned about the 0 for 14, but she is a contender.
7 SHEENA’S SHADOW Trond puts up a driver and that has historically been a dangerous angle. She might be sitting on a big effort.
8 MERGATROID She has done a good job to pick up checks in her last pair of starts. If she wants to win this, she will need even more.
9 SAXINTHECITY Added hobbles in that qualifier and it did not help as she made another break. Can earn a share if she stays trotting.
10 SINA She has nearly more earnings than the rest of the field combined. Tetrick will float her out and put her in position. Logical favorite.
4 Fourth Race Entries
Picks: 2-5-4-8
H Horse Comment
1 RAG DOLL I question what she beat in her last start and this barn is now 0 for 39. I want to see a start here first. Still a longshot.
2 A AND G’S DESIGN That last mile may have been a sign of improvement. Love the improved speed she showed. Surprise package.
3 MC GILLACUDY-HENRY She gets off too slow to contend for the win. Barn is 1 for 30, horse is 1 for 38. Late presence, if at all.
4 BETTOR’S BABE Continues to race well and is exiting a strong race. Only needs to make up 1 length on the favorite. Prime contender.
5 ACQUAVELLA She was flat out flying at the finish last week and just ran out of real estate. Perfect post, gets Tetrick. Tough to beat.
6 LIZ’S LIL K K Backers are waiting for the night where she paces smoothly on the turns and gets within striking distance. Still not for me.
7 TRUE REFLECTION Earned a nice confidence builder last time, but that field doesn’t stack up well in this spot. Call her a fringe player.
8 LIGHT OF DAY Respect her speed, but she loses Tetrick. Manzi will hustle her off the gate and speed was golden last week. Including.
9 MCTHIRD DIMENSION Has not made breaks in 3 of her last 5 starts. Lone win this year was against a much softer bunch. Longshot.
10 ZINDERELLA I like the progress she is showing but she catches a tough field here and also has to overcome the post. Mixed feelings.
5 Fifth Race Entries
Picks: 5-4-6-10
H Horse Comment
1 BIG SKY GOLD COIN Did not factor in a similar spot last week. Now 0 for his last 39. Retains longshot status for the time being.
1A BIG SKY BATS Mare’s form has gone in the wrong direction and she is now 0 for 15. We can do better than an 0 for 31 entry here.
2 T P LUCY Nice looking qualifier and this mare has been facing better recently and has won here before. An interesting player in this field.
3 REGION HALL Took a step backwards last time. Effort from 5/24 would make him a contender here. Still, has made breaks in 2 of last 3.
4 MARCUS BI Interesting to see Brennan get the call here. I’ve said in the right spot, this guy can win. This appears to be that spot.
5 GRECALE AS Tote board might give us some clues here. Fresh claim, gets Tetrick and has won here before. He is a sneaky horse here.
6 FOUNTAINBLEAU VOLO He probably should have beaten that last field, but made a mistake. This field is similar. No mistakes allowed.
7 TRAVELIN PREACHER Now 0 for 11 on the year and this gelding is yet to give an indication of much improvement. Longshot.
8 RINGSIDE WINNER That wasn’t a bad effort and the winner last time would be a heavy favorite here. I will be including in my exotics.
9 CAITIR Lasix hasn’t seemed to make much of an impact and I don’t think she has the speed to overcome the post. Playing against.
10 O DANA O This is the right level for her and although I don’t love the second tier, she figures to be a contender with any kind of trip.
11 ROAD RASH Seems to have found some better form and his last mile was better. I don’t like this post for him, though. Mixed feelings.
6 Sixth Race Entries
Picks: 4-6-2-3
H Horse Comment
1 ZOLI Loomed up three-wide last week, but came up empty in the stretch. Feel his stablemate has a better chance. Entry may earn a share.
1A TORNADO Nice win against a field he should have beaten. Have to figure he will need to go quite a bit faster now. Loses Pierce tonight.
2 DÉJÀ VU TOO Off that last mile she is the one to beat. Again, this barn is going too good to ignore and this entry cannot be left out.
2A ANARCHY That last qualifier might have been the most impressive by a 3YO trotter this year, so don’t be too hard on him! Talent here.
3 LADY DYNAMITE She was just an also-ran in the NJSS. This is a move down in class and she is fast enough. On that angle, can’t ignore.
4 RAVEN VICTORY Will he trot? If the answer is yes, then I can make a legitimate case for him as a win candidate. Demand some value!
5 HE’S GOT MUSCLE Has not made a break in both starts this year. Takter will turn the lines over to Johansson. Must stay trotting.
6 LAUDERDALE Nothing wrong with that last mile and this colt is a serious contender for the red-hot Czernyson barn. Many things to like.
7 ONLINE EXCLUSIVE Earned an easy win in The Stallion Series last out. Effort from 5/17 makes her a contender in this field. Possibility.
8 VAYA CON DIOS I liked his last effort, but like Tornado, he will need to go much faster here. Draw isn’t going to help him, either.
9 HERE’S JOHNNY He is 0 for 10 but has been knocking on the door for a long time. I won’t put him on top, but he must be included.
7 Seventh Race Entries
Picks: 6-5-7-8
H Horse Comment
1 HOT BEACH GIRL We saw our first winning Rosecroft shipper last week. This field came up VERY tough though. I need to see a start.
2 MY IDEAL HANOVER That was far from a bad mile from post 8 at Yonkers. Draws well and she might be worth including in gimmicks.
3 LILLYWHITES Not a bad qualifier and is coming out of some decent races at Yonkers. Connections aren’t known here. Likely longshot.
4 KATY’S JET I don’t like that she stopped on 5/10 as the chalk and hasn’t raced since. Mare has come class but I will watch this one.
5 CAT CORA She is coming out of a very good race. The winner is a borderline Open mare on smaller tracks. Has a class edge in here.
6 ABROKENART HANOVER I was going to pick her last week and she scratched. I will come right back with her in a very good race.
7 SIR LB’S Z TAM This barn has hit the board in over 40% of their starts. This mare fits in this field. Use her in you exotics. Adds value.
8 IDEAL IN VEGAS She had no chance in that last race, but it was a good effort to pick up a check. She fits in this competitive field.
9 LADY’S ART Similar angle here to Abrokenart. While I think that mare is a more likely winner, I can see using this mare on some tickets.
10 CHAROLETTES MAGGIE Does she have the class to go with these? This is a much tougher field top to bottom. Loses Tetrick, too.
8 Eigth Race Entries
Picks: 7-2-1-3
H Horse Comment
1 CAMERON CHIP Opened up 5/2 last week before drifting to 10/1. Almost went right down the road too! That’s unlike her. Call her a player.
2 HELIOS Winner of that last race is a true Hambletonian contender. Did a lot to finish where he did. Expect a more improved effort here.
3 APPOMATTOX This horse has a lot of class to him and qualified behind a monster. I like that 26.4 final quarter last out, too. Contender.
4 CLASSIC CONWAY Gelding improved in his most recent qualifier which is a good sign, still think he might need a start. Watching one.
5 POINTE OF HONOUR He has been facing some better horses lately. He has also done his best work on smaller tracks. Maybe a share.
6 T JS MR LAVEC Steps up off a win. Make note that he was 28-1 last week and benefited from a perfect trip. Leaning against a repeat.
7 PILATUS Seems to be rounding into better form recently. I like the progress he has made and Tetrick seems to get along well with him.
8 ANOTHER AMARETTO Remember, this horse has the ability to jump up and win at any time. He can also break without warning.
9 GO TAPAIGH That last effort was an improvement and I wouldn’t be surprised to see him take some “wise-guy” play. Worth a look.
10 PEMBROKE PRAYER I don’t like the outside draw and although he is coming out of some good races, I will be looking elsewhere.
9 Ninth Race Entries
Picks: 5-6-2-7
H Horse Comment
1 YOU LITTLE RASCAL Fraley looking for his first Big M win and catches a rather soft field here. Still, 0 for 13 this year. Mixed feelings.
2 SADIES PLACE She appears to be the most likely winner of the race. Last start against better was strong. Price will be short. Tough.
3 ORPHAN ANNIE I suppose that last race is a complete toss-out from post 8 at YR, but she was beaten 25 lengths. Need to see more.
4 A PERFECT DEO Coming off a series of qualifiers and that last qualifier was better. Tetrick’s choice of three. Watch the tote board.
5 SIR JILLIAN Z TAM She is coming out of some better races, but is still looking for her first win of the year. She looks good at this level.
6 ARTIE’S LAST PARTY I like the progress she showed last time and those nw6 races are far from easy. She is a contender in here.
7 BRAVEHEATEDMILLIE Last couple of starts are not bad and she passed quite a few in the stretch. She likes bigger tracks, too.
8 LOOKINFORAGOODTIME Another that has been facing better, without much in the way of results. She might fit well at this level.
9 JOANNIEHASAFANNY She has not come close to duplicating her form from her most recent win. I need to see some improvement.
10 DAWG’S BUDDY Mare doesn’t have much early speed and her recent form is not particularly sharp. I will be siding with others.
10 Tenth Race Entries
Picks: 2-4-10-8
H Horse Comment
1 ELEGANT DESIRE Shows a decent race here a couple of weeks ago, but she will need even more if she were to jump up and win.
2 SHAYNA BABY This looks like the kind of spot that she can bounce back. Her last effort wasn’t bad. Expecting a better effort now.
3 POLISHEDPERFECTION Although this race is for C-2 mares, that is still a substantial step up from a $5k or $6k claimer. Up against it.
4 PERSUASIVE HANOVER She has been in some good races recently and is she can race back to that 4/29 effort, she can win.
5 FULL EXPLOSION Last two efforts have not been inspiring enough to merit consideration here. Looks like a longshot once again.
6 CROWN LADY Making her 2nd start back off the layoff and was Miller’s choice. Will still need to improve quite a bit off that last mile.
7 CAROLSTERN That was a sharp effort last week and I like the progress this mare showed. I expect her to be rallying into it once again.
8 HOW ‘BOUT A SMOOCH Do you forgive that last effort? I think she is still not going to offer much of a price. I may try to beat her.
9 SAMMY L Recent form has not been very sharp and I think she does her best work on the smaller tracks. Will be playing against.
10 DYSNOMIA BLUE CHIP That was a nice effort and I was a bit surprised to see Andy choose off. Allard must find a way into the race!
11 ISLAND TERROR Her last effort was not bad, but I think she does her best work against softer than this. I will be watching this time.
12 FANCY PANTS SANDY Recent form has been dull and from this post, I think she will be left with just too much to do. Longshot.
11 Eleventh Race Entries
Picks: 9-6-7-4
H Horse Comment
1 RINGSIDE LAURYN Well-beaten in a very fast mile last time. There are some substantial class droppers here. Not sold on a win here.
2 HOLLY HILL MASTER His last effort was certainly better and it was against a better group. He will offer some value in this field, too.
3 EAST CREEK HUCK Coming off back to back wins, but those races are not particularly strong. I need to see it here first.
4 VAPORTSTAR Gelding has typically faced better than these and Tetrick gets the call here. I expect a better effort than that qualifier.
5 KLM EXPRESS Added Lasix in that last race and it was an improved effort. Gelding doesn’t win too often lately, but he can earn a piece.
6 PLAY FAIR He has been facing better lately and that last effort stacks up pretty well in this group. I think Lachance will send him along.
7 SOME LIKE IT HOT These connections will attract plenty of attention with this drop in class. Will she stay trotting? If she does, lookout.
8 TN STARBUCK Hard to gauge how those Rosecroft races stack up here. I would advise that you track the betting as a clue.
9 JAILHOUSE JUICE He has gone some nice miles here this year and I think he is better on the mile track. Might be worth a flyer here.
10 OOOH MY SOUL Another Rosecroft shipper, but he will have to overcome the wide post as well. I will be watching this time around.
12 Twelfth Race Entries
Picks: 10-7-3-2
H Horse Comment
1 IN KENNY’S HONOR Was following Lemon Drop Hall and could not keep pace with him. He needs to improve quite a bit to win here.
2 CULLENS BLUE JEAN Just 2 for his last 40. If Lewis takes her back and makes one move, this gelding has a chance to hit the ticket.
3 L M XKR He typically is left with too much to do. Finished up nicely last week but it is hard to pick him on top. I will use him underneath.
4 CR FIXED ASSET Recent form just does not look particularly solid and I need to see an improved effort before I can endorse.
5 LORD OF THE BLING From this mid-pack post, Ginsburg can track cover and make a late move. He will need a cover trip to contend.
6 DR ALFONSO Another whose recent form is not very sharp. Gets a better post here and with the right setup, might be able to earn a piece.
7 LEMON DROP HALL Off that last mile, it looks awfully tough to beat him in this spot. If he duplicates his last mile, he’s going to win.
8 WILDRIDGE SAM Showed speed last week, but then faltered throughout the rest of the mile. Expect a chance in tactics here.
9 WHITESAND HOOLIGAN See how the Rosecroft shippers have done so far and use that as a gauge. Needs to be better than his last pair.
10 AREZZO HANOVER On his best day, he is probably the fastest horse in this field. Coming out of very fast qualifier too. I’ll try him.
13 Thirteenth Race Entries
Picks: 11-7-2-4
H Horse Comment
1 LOOK ANNIE HALL Last 2 starts do not inspire much confidence for a barn that has been struggling this meet. Looking elsehwhere.
2 SUPERSTAR DREAM I think we will see speed this time around from this mare. Had no chance given the trip last time. Including.
3 GRAY OLIVES This was just too much for her last time and it will take significant improvement for her to contend with these.
4 FEELINGMIGHTYGOOD That last effort wasn’t too shabby and with another good draw, I would recommend using her on your tickets.
5 DE VINS GIRL Recent form continues to be dull. She will likely try to track cover and make one move. Might use on the bottom of supers.
6 RAIDERS FAVORITE Had some late pace last time and is likely to be involved in the outer flow here. I will be including on my tickets.
7 SOLID QUEEN She will take some catching here as she is probably a C-1 mare at her best. Will be awfully tough to beat at a short price.
8 JARNAC Much of the field was closing in last week, so I wouldn’t react too much to the ground she made up. Still a longshot.
9 CAROLSIDEAL Caught a buzz-saw last time but raced very well in a quick mile. Her speed will be her best weapon in this field.
10 ARIANE HANOVER Distanced in that last mile and now has post 10 in a 12-horse field. I will be looking elsewhere for the winner.
11 CHEYENNE PATTI That was a solid try last time and she is coming out of a very fast mile. Post 11 will only help the price. Logical player.
12 SHAKER REI Came from out of the clouds to win. Those are two crafty drives Gazzerro has put on her. Post 12 complicates things!
