Droste Wins a Share of Captaintreacherous

Wednesday, May 8, 2013

We are pleased to announce that Robert Droste of Clifton, New Jersey was the Grand Prize Winner in the “Win a Share of Captaintreacherous” promotion at the Meadowlands Racetrack.  Droste will receive one-percent of all purses earned by Captaintreacherous during his racing career and ends when he retires from racing.

Captaintreacherous was one of harness racing’s brightest stars in 2012. He was named Pacer of the Year over many older rivals, putting a bow on a season that saw him earn $918,253.  In addition, he is the fastest two year old ever seen at The Meadowlands, with his 1:49.3 tour-de-force in The Woodrow Wilson.  He also won the $1,000,000 Metro Final in 1:49.2 in Canada.  Rightfully so, Captaintreacherous is #1 on The Road to the Meadowlands Pace, listed on the “spring-book” line at 2-1.

Over 10,000 entries were submitted for the promotion. Fans had the chance to enter the contest every Saturday night through Saturday, May 4.
