Nicole Greco of Flemington, NJ was the $500 grand prize winner in Meadowlands Racetrack’s first Kentucky Derby Day Hat Contest on Saturday, May 5.
Greco (center) created a racing scene complete with a track, horses and drivers and a tote board that beat out 60 other unique hats entered in the competition. Susan Norman of Staten Island, NY (left) received $250 as the runner-up for her peacock plumage. The $100 third-place prize went to Suzanne Stahl of Basking Ridge, NJ, whose Cinco de Mayo-themed hat featured real limes, tequila and tortilla chips and salsa.
