1 WHAT A KNOCKOUT Comes off a big, confidence building win and was stakes placed prior to that. 2YO with a pole position start is a plus and I'm anxious to see how good. Has really turned the corner since those July mistakes.
2 ENCHANTING Not a whole lot on view lately, trying stakes company. This is a much needed drop, but I'd need to see a lot more from her before I could bet.
3 TREASURE STASH MIA for a few weeks after that miscue. The win in the debut was solid, over a track that not every horse likes. Was he sick? Lots of 2yo's have been sick this year. Take a good, long look out on the track tonight. Trainer: Trained in 2:15, seemed good. Will like the bigger track.
4 EASTERN PROMISE Just tell me he'll stay trotting and I'll tell you he's got a big shot in here. He is a three-year-old, with main rivals two=year-olds. Was trotting in 54 against strong fields here a few months ago. Have to respect.
5 ROAD LIGHT Just one lifetime win at age four, and some pretty dull-looking recent races. That win did come on a big track, but I'd need to see a big one here first before I could hop on board. Let's see some improvement.
6 TOP OF THE LINE That wasn't a bad try over at Yonkers, considering three-plus weeks off. Broke here before that, so that doesn't raise my hopes. Let's see if he can get the "hang" of the big track. Not sure yet.
7 ENVY HANOVER Another of the fillies in here, tackling the boys. She's a 3YO, which helps and she's got big time speed, also a plus. What she does lack, however, is stamina. Set slow pace at Pocono and still got tired. Tough call.
8 MUSCLE ALMIGHTY Set a faster pace than #7 at Pocono last time, but kept on rolling to break his maiden. This will be no easy spot, with all the other speedsters in here. Might have to try and rally again. On right track! Trainer: Easy win last time, training well.

H Horse Comment
1 ABBIJADE HANOVER Has raced well over this track before, so keep that in mind. Figures to offer some fair value from the pole post, against a few big class droppers. Gets a nice, inside stalking trip and should get a share.
2 TWICE AN ANGEL Firing back on four days rest, like #3,5. That Tuesday effort looks a little flat on paper, and she's not had much luck here this year. With that said, I could consider in an underneath spot, but not on top. Trainer: Two no chance trips in a row, very tough race here, but I expect her to be close.
3 MISS ME YET Was the favorite on Tuesday at Harrington against open level mares. How does that stack up against this bunch? Seems like she's racing back into shape, in rally mode. There could be some action to set up her kick.
4 BLUSH HANOVER Squeezes in for the condition here, and she has also gone some big races here this year. Usually good for one strong move in mile, and it's usually a rally. In perfect post to just sit and stalk, wait to pounce.
5 MCACE OF ARTS I can still remember that mile from July 28! A real sparkler! Hasn't won since, and was impeded on Tuesday night. I think we're going to see the speed again. If left unpressured, she will go a long way.
6 ARIELLE LYNN Perhaps the key to the race, based on the class drop. Last time she was in "conditioned" events, she won! I can't say I'm in love with the post, but she does outclass many of these. It's your call, at short price.
3 Third Race Entries
Picks: 6-4-2-7
H Horse Comment
1 TUIZ LUCK N Down from Tioga off a win and a break, but against lesser company. I think she could be a tad overmatched against these, but the pole should keep her close. Let's see if she's a fit with these on big track.
2 SKATERLY Added Lasix last time and had a tough trip at Philly. I like that he didn't pack it in completely. That could be a step in the right direction and I wouldn't be shocked if he threatened these. Several question marks in here.
3 MAN OF DESTINY A little bit flat here last month. Got some time off and crawled around Philly with a flat mile. Would need to turn it up several notches to get past this group.
4 COOGAN Speed-tightened over at Pocono last time. That was against a NW5 group, which should be tougher than this. The post tonight is a lot better and this is definitely the one to fear in here with top effort.
5 SOUTH SIDE HANOVER 4YO has a lot of starts under her belt and she does pack a turn of speed, but I question if she packs mile track stamina? From what I'm looking at, I'm doubtful at this point. Will have to prove me wrong.
6 SPLASHED Paid instant dividends on the barn change at Pocono and then regressed into a break on the half at Yonkers. That's likely why he's back here at Club Med. If he trots, he can clearly win. Take a long look on track. Trainer: Looking forward to seeing him on the mile track.
7 DEACON TONY Boy, I don't know what to do with this horse! Any of his top efforts is good enough to win, but I will say it's been a long season for him and it might be catching up to him. Other speeds in here. A tough post.
4 Fourth Race Entries
Picks: 6-2-1-7
H Horse Comment
1 GYPSY ROSE Had a fairly useful qualifier to get ready for this. They thought enough of her to try stakes company in NY, but she couldn't handle the smaller track. Very realistic spot here, and probably a decent price. Consider.
2 HAIL DAMAGE BLUES Up and down the class ladder lately with just fair results. This is clearly the right spot for her and she owns more than enough versatile speed. I make her the one to catch, and beat, with faves outside, and 1st L.
3 SKY FULLA STAR Finally did win a race this year, but it came over at Yonkers. I picked her many times over the summer and she had plenty of excuses. Back to the big track and a factor, with any smooth trip. Maybe.
4 THAT'S HOW WE ROLL 3YO has proven to be a bit less than stakes company. She packs a fairly good kick when things set up like they did at Yonkers. This race could have some action in it. Expect a slow start, however.
5 STRAWB'S CHIPPIE N Found a couple of easy spots up at Monticello, but now it's back to the wolves here. Will have to go a whole lot faster to beat these, and I'm going to take a stand against for now.
6 BETTOR CHILL OUT Also up and down the class ladder over at Pocono, but she likes the big track here and packs a huge turn of speed. Will she use it early, or late? I wish I knew! Could be the key to the race. Have to include. Trainer: Training good. The cooler weather seems to agree with her.
7 CHILLIN IT DE VIE Doesn't appear to be quick off the wings, so that IS a problem! Clearly in good form right now, so it's all about pace and trip from this slot. If she adapts to mile track, could have a bright future. Talented 3YO.
5 Fifth Race Entries
Picks: 7-1-4-6
H Horse Comment
1 MR JAGERBOMBER One of the 2YO's in here, tackling some older foes, but how good is he? Uber impressive qualifiers and then a good rally on sloppy track at Pocono. Should be dry here, and he may be a good one!
2 PECORINO Sports a real mixed bag of efforts, with some miscues too! I'll take a pass on this freshman for now, and see if he just stays pacing tonight. Andy got along with him on Hambo eve, so it's a big maybe for tonight.
3 BUCKEYE CHROME Unraced since Hambo eve, so you have to think he'll need this one. Clearly a longshot.
4 TIXNSTONES Tough to get a real handle on this fella. He was ready to go once the baby races started. But, he hasn't flashed any serious speed, or kick just yet. Barn keeps going with him, so they must think he will come to his speed.
5 SCHOLZ Been okay so far, but doesn't look like a real killer. After that maiden breaker, the company has been a little too tough. It certainly won't get any easier here, so he'll need to go even faster. I can't guarantee that.
6 YO APOLLO CREED I still remember the trip Scotty Z gave him in that 15-1 upset win! Had similar trip last out at Pocono and almost got there. Moves to outer post here and should give Vinny G a real test. A bumpy ride!
7 HENRY HILL What got into this guy down at Philly? That was heck of a trip, in second start on Lasix. It's taken him a while to come around, but the lightbulb might have gone on! If so, the rest of these might be chasing him home. Trainer: Talented colt that was slow to get started, but progressing well. Looking to build on first two starts.
8 ASTON HILL DAVE Owns a pretty good turn of speed, but perhaps not the mile track stamina? He also graduated last month at Pocono and found the waters a little deep since. Likely facing immediate pressure from #7. Adds Lasix.
9 BAG PIPE MAJOR Doesn't look sharp and didn't have any luck at the post draw. Not sure I can like out here.
6 Sixth Race Entries
Picks: 7-3-5-1
H Horse Comment
1 SICILY On the comeback trail, after the apparent disaster at Pocono. Showed pretty good speed before that, so let's excuse that one blemish. Return qualifier at home base looks pretty good. Tackling some real toughies, however.
2 MICHAEL'S VICTORY Appears to have worked his way too high in class now. Let's pass and wait for a drop.
3 TALENT SOUP Was good enough to make the Med Pace final and had no luck that night, but look who gets the drive back? Eric A! He did very well with this fella then and I expect a top effort here. Only knock: tackling older.
4 CALVIN B It seems this guy has tailed off a touch. Disappointed the last time we saw him here, and that last start at Vernon isn't very good. I guess if he were to bounce back, we'll give him a maybe. I need to see more first. Trainer: Honest horse that gives his all, but this is a tough bunch.
5 EXPRESS STRIDE N Imported here this year and he fits right in! The qualifiers here were good. The races at Philly are good and this post is perfect. Tackling strong field, but he'd be hard to leave off the ticket. A must use for me.
6 GO BIG SPENDER Squeezes in for the condition, but not sure how well he'll fit with this group. I suspect he's overmatched, but he does get Andy and could end up with live cover behind #5. Demand value if you like.
7 AMERICANPRIMETIME Getting some serious class relief for Rick Dane and he's won on class drops before. He's also won here at Club Med. Have to believe we'll see that serious speed. The one to catch and the one to beat. Trainer: Major class relief and he loves the Big M.
8 CHEVALS CLIVESDALE One of several dropping down here, but this fella has great misfortune of drawing outside the favorites. He's game, though, and beat a solid bunch over at Yonkers. I will just toss the Spa effort. Expect more.
9 CHANGE STRIDE N Shaun Vallee sent this fella over, expecting to be in a softer spot. Unfortunately. it didn't happen. Appears a little "buried" with a probable slow start from the outside post.
7 Seventh Race Entries
Picks: 4-10-6-2
H Horse Comment
1 WILLIE BOOTS Not a whole lot going on in this corner, and he probably fits an easier spot than this. Gets the inside post because of that, but I'm not sure that will be enough. Hoping return to big track will help.
2 WHAT I BELIEVE Same boat as #1. Drew nothing but bad posts down at Philly, so he needs a change of scenery. I guess I could make a case for him hitting the ticket with any solid effort and smooth trip. Will offer a price.
3 QUALITY BUD Had a few good efforts here this summer, but that did come against weaker. He's tackling a much tougher field here, but the post will keep him close. If the flow is live, he might have a chance. Maybe.
4 ALWAYS A DIAMOND Got "wrecked" last time we saw him here, and it's nice to see him back, and racing okay. This is usual spot where he belongs and it's also all about the trip for him. Overdue for a bit of "good luck."
5 VICTORYDAZE WILWIN Parlayed a perfect trip into that shocking upset win on Hambo eve. Needs this one.
6 JACKSRLUCKYTOO Up and down the class ladder all year. Usually delivers an honest and solid effort, but mostly from off the pace. That's the way he likes it. Post isn't bad, but this is field full of closers. Not sure what Tom will do.
7 FOOL OF IDEAS This fella woke up a little last time at Pocono. Looks like a perfect pocket rocket trip. Looking at this field, Victor may want to take a shot and send! I don't see him outkicking Jack, or some of the others.
8 PERSEVERANT Not in a good spot way out here. I don't think he's capable of any early speed, so that's a problem. That break on August 19 worries me too! Not much luck in the trip department lately leads me off his boat. Trainer: Raced good last week.
9 ASHLEY'S HUSBAND Strong mile in the Saratoga win, and then he bounced back flat. May have been a tough trip, but still, he didn't go in 51. Montrell gets the call and maybe he'll take a shot and send. I would.
10 IAMMRBRIGHTSIDE N Big question mark! We all remember what he did here earlier, but has the campaign caught up to him, or is he just better on the big track. Capable of a "steamrolling" rally and that would win this.
8 Eigth Race Entries
Picks: 7-4-1-6
H Horse Comment
1 AUCKLAND FLYER Sports an improved effort in that last try at Saratoga. Has enough speed to protect the pole and he's one of the many possibilities in this impossible-to-handicap race. One of them has to win. Which one?
2 OUTLAWDANGRUSWATRS Found a nice, easy soft spot up at Monticello. Ordinarily, I would dismiss, but I can't make heads or tails of this race. Maybe this guy can keep up on the mile track? We'll find out.
3 BUCKEYE IN CHARGE Likely to lag early and clunk up late for his usual minor share. I don't give him much chance to win, but he can pick up a piece, if even halfway ready off the long layoff.
4 IYQ YQR I hope Ken can figure out how to pronounce this horse's name. I can't figure it out. He was stuck in some real tough spots lately in New York, so this is solid class drop. I guess I could make case he wakes up in here.
5 SOUTHERN SPORT Kind of the same boat as #2. Not really sure he fits, but why not take a shot for 21YO driver. Note that gelding did take his mark here, but that was a LONG time ago. Let's see if he fits any more.
6 RING WARRIOR First off, I will admit this is not one of my favorite horses. BUT, with that said, looking at this field, he obviously has a chance. Might end up controlling this on front end, but he gets weary late. Andy opted for #7
7 VICTORY AT LAST Andy's choice of this fella over #6 is significant. Uncorked an improved effort Monday at Philly and he does have some back class. A repeat of that effort puts him squarely in play tonight. It's your call.
9 Ninth Race Entries
Picks: 5-6-7-8
H Horse Comment
1 FRANKIE BOY Up and down the class ladder at Ocean. He even won after making a break! I guess the rail will keep him close enough and he might be able to kick in late, provided he stays pacing. That'll be up to Jonathan.
2 WORKANDPLAYHARD Andy had a choice in here and opted for this guy over #7. That caught me by surprise. 0-28 record. Coming off slightly improved effort at Philly. He did win here last year. A lot of definite maybes!
3 HIGH OCTANE N Not a whole lot going on here for the 11YO. I think he got a check in one race here this summer and this field is full of question marks. Likely to just sit, wait, and hope to rally by a few of them.
4 DOUBLE YOUR BET Raced on Tuesday at Yonkers and basically faded. Only two wins this year. I would have a tough time endorsing him on the short rest off a flat effort. Demand a square price if you fancy.
5 JUMBO JET N Another Vallee invader that was searching for a soft spot and this one found it! Obviously, he was facing better at Yonkers, working his way down the class ladder. Any sort of wakeup call and he can win this.
6 MOONLIGHT RANSOM They claimed this guy for $15K in July and have earned three checks so far, but no wins. His stamina on the smaller tracks seems in question, but he did pace faster here. If he goes that kind of mile, can win.
7 STAKEOUT Certainly raced well enough here earlier. I will completely dismiss the races from Philly, but even more concerning was that Andy didn't take him. Solid chance for Eric A to pick up a winning drive, if horse is good.
8 STRATOCASTER Traveling lots of miles lately, but with no solid results to show for it. He did win a race here earlier this year, so that's a plus in his column. The big knock here in the post, and apparent lack of early speed. Trainer: Starting to find himself again, loves this track.
10 Tenth Race Entries
Picks: 7-2-3-6
H Horse Comment
1 WHATA BIZNESS Looks like first start for new connections. Maybe was in the Ohio sale? I can't say much for any of his form, but we'll find out if he's a fit for Club Med. Has the rail and will try to keep up.
2 LAST DRAGON Was able to "drop and pop" a couple of times here in spots like this. Therefore, I expect a solid effort and much stronger speed from him tonight. In line to get a great trip behind Jack. That would work out well. Trainer: Good post, down in class and loves the Big M.
3 ST LADS FLIRT I'm going to give him a pass for the dull Freehold efforts. Probably a much better horse here on the mile. A few of his efforts here would be good enough to threaten. I just don't know how sharp he is? 0-13 this year.
4 SLY RULER Another Monti shipper with a lot to prove on the big track. Most of them don't fit. I'll pass here.
5 ROBBY BOBBY Wasn't much of a factor in that try here in July, but he may have had some traffic trouble that night. Comes off a confidence building win on Monday at Freehold. Can we see that speed again? A big maybe.
6 TWINCREEKS JACK You just don't know what you're going to get from Jack nowadays. I'm more than willing to forgive the recent efforts on smaller tracks. Here he flaunts his speed, but sometimes gets tired late. Tough call. Trainer: Loaded with pace at Pocono, but was trapped and shuffled. Looking for same trip with more luck late.
7 HOWSABOUTAKISS Gets the tepid call as fave, simply because he was facing much, much tougher earlier. Any return to decent form will give him big chance to land back in winner's circle for Andy. Very likely the one to beat.
8 SWORD OFTHE SPIRIT Not in a good spot, going from inside posts at Ocean to outside one here. However, it's likely a class drop for him, and he does have a turn of speed. Timing and trip will be critical from this slot.
9 RU READY TO ROCK Took a shot and fired out up at the Spa last time, but that didn't work out. I clearly don't see him trying that again, so unless you think he can pass them all, it's a very tough bet.
11 Eleventh Race Entries
Picks: 8-5-3-1
H Horse Comment
1 JAZEBEL DE VIE If you just tell me she'll stay trotting, I'll tell you she has a big chance in this hard-to-handicap race. The inside post should keep her close, and she did win here last year. I don't suspect she'll offer much value, though.
2 TROT COMMANDER Only horse in field that has two wins this year. That has to be considered. Recent form is pretty flat, but he does have experience here. I'm not sure he can trot with #7 on the square, but ya never know.
3 PARTY ON THE RIVER I suppose he needed that last one, after a brief layoff. Does show some Yonkers lines against better fields. Still in need of total wakeup call, but I've seen stranger things in races like this. A maybe.
4 CLIFTON BEACH All kinds of issues with this gelding right now. I would need to see a decent effort before I could even consider.
5 WILDFLOWER Off several weeks and coming off a pretty dull effort. Not sure if she was purchased privately, or just sent out here to Rick Dane. I'll be watching one to see if she belongs in a spot like this.
6 PLAYBOY RUSTY 5YO usually lags early and comes on to pass tired ones. There could be several tired ones to pass in this field, so I would have to consider him on any gimmick tickets. Let's hope he stays trotting tonight.
7 O'WOW 0-21 this year, so that sticks out badly. On plus side, he worked way back down in class and that wasn't a bad effort two back with tough trip. I guess my problem here is the post, and those breaks. Tough to like a lot.
8 MURMUR HANOVER Last start was in Prince Edward Island during Old Home Week, I believe. Owns more than enough speed to crush these for new barn. Gannon a master of working out kinks with trotters. If he trots, he wins.
12 Twelfth Race Entries
Picks: 6-3-2-9
H Horse Comment
1 AARIN HANOVER Not bad last few, but an additional bump up in class. Gets another cozy, inside post, which should help. In line for the sit-in and try to keep up trip. Maybe even for a minor share.
2 MCFOOLERY Over from Pocono with a touch of class relief. It's hard to figure out the scratches, but if she were to return to form, she has a chance. Gets Andy in the seat, so that's a plus. I'd still want fair value to take a shot.
3 TWIST OF FATE A 3YO in against all older. Her recent stakes form isn't exactly dazzling, but she does own four wins this year. I guess we could call this a "live drive" for Billy Mann. Let's see if she packs mile track stamina.
4 DRAG N SAND Raced on Tuesday at Pocono and it was pretty dull. This is another puzzler, hoping for a big return to form. Those are hard to predict. Hasn't really taken a forward step yet this year.
5 LITTLE MISS MARIE She looks a little overmatched here on the mile track. I will simply pass on her tonight.
6 CEDAR HALL HEIRESS Took tons of money in a few summer starts here earlier and did manage to win. With that said, if you just ignore her out-of-town form, she should probably beat these. Expect a solid bounce back effort.
7 NOTEBOOKANDTABLET If my math is correct, this is fourth race in 10 days? They were all fairly decent, but this is asking a lot. Plus, she's not exactly a big track specialist, is she? I would need to see a good one here first.
8 FOUR HOUR NAP Four hours is too long for a nap, but that's just my opinion. As for this mare, she's been towing along over at Yonkers against better. Has shown some speed before, so Rick Dane might take a shot, send. Maybe. Trainer: Has speed when she needs it. Drops a little in class. Doesn't win a lot, but is always close.
9 DREAM'S BAR 11YO warhorse gets the worst of it, post-wise tonight and it's going to hurt. Pretty solid brush and crush last time at Philly, but it won't be that easy tonight. Expect her to kick in, but from how far back?
