1 YO APOLLO CREED Gelding changed up the strategy last time and rallied nicely behind a heavily favored winner. Moves all the way back inside tonight and faces a few other faves, but I like the spot. He will sit close and tow along.
2 ROCK ON LINE Obviously the big question mark in here. What happened last time, and where's he been for five weeks? Hoping we get a trainer comment to explain it. Otherwise, we have to take a very cautious approach. Trainer: Had a virus and required a little time to shake it. Has come back good and looks healthy.
3 WHATA TWIST Still showing up a little bit lesser than these. Has to find a way to go faster here on the mile track and we simply haven't seen it yet. Trainer: He's not one for winning. Just hoping to pick up a check.
4 APPLE HEIR Seemed to turn things around in a BIG way last out, and they knew it, judging by the final odds. What will we get here tonight at Club Med? Not really sure. I do know he'll have to go a lot faster here. Question mark.
5 THRDTHRSDAYNSPTMBR You know the name, right? It's Little Brown Jug day! The third Thursday in September! The horse is having a much better 4YO season than prior years, but I still don't know if he's up to the task here.
6 ROCKIN MACHINE Took a couple of weeks off after a regressing pattern. Sometimes that extra rest helps and so does added Lasix. Sometimes not. He does pack a decent turn of early speed, but it's the stamina that needs work. Let's see if any better tonight.
7 JK PARLAY Gets into the race via the alternate condition of lifetime earnings. Therefore, gets "assigned" the outside post, but it probably won't matter. Freshened up. Fine qualifier against top level horse. He's probably just faster than these.

1 BRIDGE TO TOMORROW Had a needed race over the track and now gets major post relief for second leg of the series. Would need to make major impact to have any shot at the final, so let's expect more. Sits much closer now.
2 BETTORHAVEANOTHER Pretty sharp effort upon arrival and it's interesting note that both division winners from last week are in this race. They were both awesome, so something's gotta give. I'm going with Apple. Might be wrong.
3 TICA HANOVER Did not make much of an impact in round one, but that happens. She's now had a couple of starts over the strip and I'm sure she's better than she shows right now. Chance to get a lot closer with different trip. Trainer: Big mare that we haven't seen her best yet. I'll take the blame for trying to race her too far off the pace. Will be forwardly placed and raced accordingly, to get her head back in the game.
4 OK HEAVENLY It's already been a long season for this lass, without much luck. Didn't have any realistic chance in the race won by #2 up front last week. Give us a different pace scenario and she can finish. It's all about the trip.
5 APPLE BOTTOM JEANS Shipped in and sure showed up ready for Mr. Switzer! She overpowered that field last week and did it the hard way! I was supremely impressed. She'll have to do it again, grinding after #2. Won't be easy.
6 FILLY FORTY SEVEN Did a fairly good job of towing along behind #2 last week, and I will note that she finished with good interest. What I don't like tonight is the switch to the outside post. I'm not sure that's going to work out well.
7 ROSELILY Stalked in a pretty good spot last week in round one and didn't have the kick to threaten. Not helped much with the move to outermost post. I think that's a game changer, and kills her chances. Trainer: Very consistent mare. Gives a good effort every start.

1 STORMTRACKER No match for the Apple last week, but Corey put a very nice trip on her, and she was clearly next best. It was excellent acclimating mile back to the big track. Has the rail now, with power outside. Guns? Or sits?
2 FAMILY ROLL CALL Clearly outraced her odds last week, with speed at both ends. That was big step in the right direction. I've been waiting for this lass to wake back up and that's the sign. If you want a price, go ahead and use! Trainer: An honest mare. Expecting a good year from her. She's feeling the best she ever has.
3 PERPLEXED Another that wasn't looking at the odds board last week. Involved in hot and heavy pace battle at 88-1. She did get tired, but understandably. Likely a very different kind of trip coming here. Won't be 88-1 this week either.
4 PRINCESS FABULOSA Was clearly in need of her first start back off long layoff and I feel she'll need another.
5 KISS ME ONTHEBEACH That wasn't a bad first try for Team Orange Crush. Got involved both early and late. Okay. I liked what I saw. Could provide some speed in here if Andy wants to take a shot. That could work out for good trip. Trainer: Needed the start last week. Should be better in here tonight.
6 VALUABLE ART It took a BIG mile to beat this one last week. She was fighting tooth and nail all the way into that well-rated winner. With that said, she might have to do it again. Will it be speed, inside of #7, or take back and wait? Also adds Lasix.
7 WINDSUN GLORY Used pretty hard in the early pace battle last week and then lacked the punch to get by late. Now, it's a switch to the outside post and a big decision coming for McCarthy. If nobody firing out, he will blast!

1 G W T That was pretty impressive try in first start here. Chased a big favorite and did it willingly to complete a nice exacta. With the switch to the rail now, and his regular pilot back, watch out! Won't offer that 33-1 price tonight.
2 LUCKY LEONARD Showed some talent last year at two, but so far, starters from this barn have needed a race or two. I'll go with that until proven otherwise. His qualifier was pretty good.
3 TRUE CUT Shows a real mixed bag of efforts so far, but none of them here. I can't guarantee that the big track will pick him up enough. I usually have to see it first. Will have to go a lot faster here too!
4 POP'S ROMEO Retains longshot status, in my opinion. That first go back here wasn't exactly a good one. Would need a complete turnaround to threaten these tonight.
5 SLIPIN SKIP Another invader for barn that has a few in tonight. Appears to have matured quite a bit from age three to four. I like the bit of rest before coming here. That's a pretty solid looking qualifier, even if slow time. He'll be ready.
6 CALIFORNIA CRUISIN One of last season's top colts early on. Didn't end the year quite the way you want, but he put in some great miles over this strip earlier. I remember those, so I will expect him to be A-1 ready for Camp Croghan.
7 CUZ I'M HAPPY A slow start from outside post last week kind of sealed the deal. Could it be same situation tonight? Unfortunately, I think so. I need to see more from him, or a better post, or an easier spot. Maybe all three.
8 LEAR SEELSTER Probably the key to this race. It's second time Lasix. He held pretty well last week, considering the trip and competition on the lead. From this post, he almost has to leave and I think he can do it. Will test the faves.
5 Fifth Race Entries

1 DAIYMIR Did you watch him pace the final eighth last week? If you didn't, go and look at it again. Airborne might be the word to describe it. This horse has always raced well here. Now he gets benefit of inside post. Watch out!
2 FIRST CLASS HORSE Nice name for a horse, and it looks like he's lived up to it with that lifetime record. Not bad! Off the layoff here, and conservative qualifier, I don't think he's primed and ready yet. I will be watching.
3 EMERITUS MAXIMUS Capable of a really big mile every now and then. At least twice a sub-1:50 winner. Worked his way up the Dover class ladder nicely. Deserves a shot here, so let's see what he's made of. Might be firing out.
4 NOCTURNAL BLUE CHIP Speaking of marching up the class ladder, that's what this guy has done. BUT, I think this is too high for him now. No real punch last week, so let's pass and wait for some class relief later on.
5 BEYOND DELIGHT Talk about sharp! How bout his roll over at Yonkers? Gets into this race on alternate condition, so it's a decent spot. Versatile enough to do it either way, and I remember that 26 speed here last month. One to fear?
6 THE REAL ONE Classy gelding here can go with any of them at any time, but will he be fully cranked and ready off the qualifiers? I'm going to guess he's racing from behind, so I am willing to watch one. Will be ready very soon.
7 SOHO WALLSTREET A Never really had a chance last week, so I can forgive that. Unfortunately, he gets stuck with outside post again. If he takes back, he'll probably suffer the same fate.

1 DOREL Found the water a little deeper in round one of this series last week. The trip didn't help either. Lands same post, in need of softer journey. Might have to sit in this time, which can cause traffic trouble. Your call, folks?
2 CAJON LIGHTNING Not bad upon arrival, but not great either. Kind of in the same boat here, having to showcase more speed, or more kick. Not sure if he's got the punch to go with these right now. Must prove me wrong.
3 AIR STRIKE The slowish start put him behind the eight ball upon return. Disappointed me here last year too! I wonder if he just doesn't like this track? Rounded into form nicely down south. Will he wake back up here? Corey stays here.
4 WINDSONG LEO Perfect trip and drive to capture the opening round, but he was very good! Finished up with plenty left to outkick #7 home. Has the post edge on that foe again, and he's got speed. Might be hard to deny tonight.
5 SAMS TRIPLE CROWN His fate was sealed at the post draw last week. Never got into the fray. I wonder if Sam is good enough to with these anyway. He has surprised us before. I guess we'll find out tonight. Needs a BIG mile.
6 HUG THE WIND N Croghan has TWO in here and they are both question marks for different reasons. They both tried the Levy and something went amiss. It took TWO qualifiers to get him back. No idea what to expect tonight.
7 BARIMAH A Remains pretty sharp, that's for sure. Leo got the jump on him last week and outkicked him home, but I will give full credit for the effort. Tonight's problem is the post again. Has to get into it a tad earlier, most likely. Trainer: Racing well, and is a nice horse.
8 WAIKIKI BEACH A Down under import landed on our shores with a BIG reputation. Started good in Florida, but what's happened since? Struggled around Yonkers three times, but that was a different class of horse. Will he like the mile track? We'll find out.

1 TERROR OF THE NITE Made a break as the gate snapped last week, which is curious. He doesn't make breaks. Moves all the way inside now, but ends up higher in class. I suspect he'll be using that speed, as long as he paces.
2 CHUCARO ACERO BC Worked his way all the way down to find that soft spot at Freehold. Now begins the ascent UP the ladder and he has won here before. This is no easy spot, but confidence builders sometimes work wonders.
3 MAAJAACKKOBE Another that's bounced around up and down the class ladder. When he won, it was with the perfect trip of a lifetime. Hasn't been that lucky since, but that can always change. Nice inside post. A big chance.
4 SWEET TALKIN SATIN Retains large longshot status against these. Still in too tough here on the big track.
5 LODI MACHETTE MAN Like many in here, he's bounced around trying to find the right spot. At least he finally gets a decent post, and another new driver in Jimmy, Jr. Can leave, if JM feels he's sharp. Chance to hit the ticket with trip. Trainer: Had sneaky pace and surprised Victor, but he chose a different horse.
6 CALVIN B I don't ever seem to guess right on Cal, but this sure does look like a spot where he can do some good. Gets his favorite driver back in the seat. The post isn't bad. Probably won't have any excuses, but short price.
7 THAT'S MY OPINION I guess he was headed for a fire last time at Pocono? 26! 54! Stopped after that. Might be time to give this one a race from OFF the pace. Let's see if he can do it.
8 EVER AGAIN After winning the 11th race last Saturday, Troy sent this one out as well. Unfortunately, horse didn't have the same kick as previous one. Oh well. This spot looks a little bit tougher and I hate the post again. Trainer: No luck the last two starts, but still racing well.
9 GLASS PRINCE IF you think the pace will be hot and heavy, due to the likes of #7, then maybe we can hop on board this guy. He is the best "finisher": in the race, but how far back will he be? That is the question.
10 FRANKANDJOANNE Surprised me with some decent finishing pace upon arrival. Was it a fluke? Tonight's problem is the same from another terrible post. He won't be outfinishing the Prince, in my opinion. Tough to like out here.

1 DANISHDUJOUR Finally gets a big break at the post draw, so maybe that will help. He is capable of tossing in a big effort from time to time. Let's see how well he gets away, and then tows along behind the favorite. Might work out.
2 THE FIRE WITHIN Ended up with a good setup last week, and fell just short of catching that longshot leader. It wasn't a bad effort, but left me wanting a bit. If anything, this field looks tougher than that. Will need his grinding best again.
3 STRATOCASTER Little bit of a mystery horse in this spot. Coming back from another even effort at Yonkers. The two here were nothing to write home about. Wasn't Jimmy's choice in here. I guess I have more cons than pro's.
4 STOMPIN TOM CREEK 11YO is 0-10 so far this year. I'll note that he took his mark on a big track up in Canada a long time ago. See how barn's starters have done here tonight. Missed couple of weeks. Looks like a slow starter too!
5 KINGS BARNS Marohn ends up here, over #2,3. I have guessed right on this guy once or twice in the past. He's usually good for one solid move, but the setup needs to be right. The post is perfect. Will be out in the flow.
6 TALENT SOUP I still cannot believe he got beat last week, but that's racing! Somehow, he ends up with a class drop after that, so this is truly now or never. He HAS to beat these, right? I'll go with that theory for now.
7 SPORTY REDHOT Last time he raced at this level, it was a disaster in a hot pace. In a couple of tough spot since, but with absolutely no pace. Can he possibly turn it all the way around again? I don't know, but he does have Corey.
8 SPAGHETTI EDDIE Never really got rolling last time. Had a few decent efforts before that, but nothing to get me out of my seat. I don't like this post, or potential setup. Have to prefer others for now.
9 NORTHERN VIRGIN Eric A has probably been waiting for this class drop again, but is it really any easier? No! He may send this fella out of there, because he'll get nothing if he takes back like last time. Will need a hole, and a good trip. Trainer: Needs to draw better.
10 BETTORS GLASS Like #6, I'm kind of shocked he got beat last week. By Quality Bud too! Yes, the trip wasn't easy, but he should have outclassed them. Now gets stuck with post 10. That may not work out so well.

1 BIG N BAD 8YO coming back off the layoff for Team Harmon here. Has two starts under his belt and begins the plunge down the class ladder. Wakeup call time will be coming soon, but we might have to guess when.
2 LAWRENCETOWN BEACH Was flying right by the leader last week when he broke for no apparent reason. I don't know why, but he was full of pace. He was also 4-5, so apologies if you bet. Will you try again? It's risky.
3 ROCKIN THE HOUSE Things set up for the ralliers in his race last week, so that's why the good finish. It's the same every week, as he's completely at mercy of pace and trip. Not sure how much pace there will be in this one. Tuf call.
4 TRANSITIONING JOY Gave it a pretty good try upon arrival. Was nipped by a bigger longshot, but it was an all-Delaware exacta! He's just a 3YO, but proved he could hack it with this type. Will Montrell send, or wait again?
5 SANTIAGO STYLE This race has a few distinct closers in it and this is one of them. Gelding is VERY sharp now, but he's always at mercy of what happens up front. If nobody tests #2, it might be hard to catch in sprint home.
6 MORE DRAGON Raced his eyeballs out again last week. The Dragon is good right now, but I sure wish I knew what the strategy is going to be. If he doesn't leave, I doubt he can outkick the other closers. Very tough call.
7 PHOTOBOMBR HANOVER First time Lasix tonight, and off a pair of very good qualifiers. He was driven out in the second one, but showed enough heart to hold on, in fast time. Might add a few points if JK Parlay won the first.
8 BUPA BRUISIER Final piece of the puzzle here. Unlike the two strong efforts, he did not show any speed when hiked up to this level last week. Will it be the same tonight? If it is, he's unlikely to have any chance.

1 BALLERAT BOOMERANG Been in some pretty tough spots lately over at Pocono and last two were bad posts as well. Gelding has worked his way down the class ladder and it looks like time for the wakeup call. Expect a big effort.
2 BIG STRETCH MARK Was very sharp a couple of months ago, and then found his way too high in class. This is back to the level where he fits and he gets another inside post. Eric A will try to get him a trip. That's how he does damage.
3 CAPOZZO Over from Yonkers where he's been a little pace compromised. I know he's only got one win this year, and only one from last year, but I'll also remind you he took his mark here. Seems overdue to get a good break. Chance! Trainer: Raced good three starts back. Looking for another good effort.
4 ART HISTORY Continuing his money burning ways of late. He ended up with a perfect trip right behind the winner last week and just didn't have the punch. I know I've had enough of this guy for a while. If he beats me, so be it.
5 QUALITY BUD I have to admit, I was completely surprised he sailed right by Bettors Glass last week. It was perfect trip and drive by Mr. Marohn. This is now a double jump up in class, so he'll have to get lucky again. Longshot now.
6 ITS JUST TOO MUCH Another with one win last year, and just one win this year, and they didn't come here. In other words, I'd be surprised if he stepped up and delivered a top notch effort to win. Not a big track horse?
7 SIR PUGSLEY Wasn't bad upon arrival here last week. He hasn't won yet this year, but did a lot last year. This is about the level where he belongs, so don't be surprised with another good effort. I will use him!
8 GRAND THEFT Outraced his odds last time, when forced up to this level. Tonight's problem is probably the post. I don't envision him firing out, and I don't envision him sweeping the field either. Your call? Trainer: Has been racing good the last few weeks. Had a good week and hopefully it will continue.
9 JOJO JOVE Simply put, he went the race of his life last week to get past a horse that made Meadowlands Pace final last week. I guess we can call that a good claim? Horse isn't exactly "rewarded" with post nine, but Corey is still on. Sharp now!
