1 FOX VALLEY STEFFEN Regressed just a touch last when bet off the board. Prior two were solid and a return to that type effort is what is needed. The rail may not be best place for this fella to start. Has to work out a smoother trip.
2 DANISH DURANGO Seems to be sharp again for K Mac and Bob H. I like this spot! He can stalk in his usual spot and if he gets to follow #1 at some point, that could be good cover. Would be hard to leave out in this post, current form. Trainer: Getting a little better every week, and should get a good trip from the inside.
3 KEYSTONE BLADE Likely still adjusting to the north, after shipping up from Florida. Since he's made breaks in two of last three, I'm expecting a conservative effort here. I'll be watching for future consideration.
4 PARTY ON THE RIVER Nice steer last week, with a much improved effort by the horse too! Going by his last streak, he should stay good for a few. Also drew key inside post. Won't be 20-1 this week, however. Your call?
5 URIEL Rated pretty nicely last week, and if not for a top effort from the Swan, she might have shocked everybody. Maybe it was that Go Pro camera on Annie's helmet? With a couple closers to the inside, a send could be coming.
6 SHADY MCCOY Took a lot of betting money as well last week on the drop and did not deliver the goods. With that said, I'm not sure what the price will be tonight and I wouldn't risk a short one. He'll need a trip to get closer.
7 SECRET UNIVERSE Invades on some kind of roll right now for Tony C. Horse took his mark on a big track at Hoosier, so that shouldn't be a problem. I'd still like to see one here first, and do wonder if he will be way overbet? Maybe.
8 GOLD MEDAL SWAN Mark's got this guy sharp right now! And that was super-solid, overpowering effort last week. Yes, he'll be tested from a further outside post, and I don't think he'll offer big, attractive odds. Needs a big one.
9 WINWOOD SCOUT Back off a long layoff here, and I can't be too positive looking at that one qualifier. The outside post is a killer too! Guess we're going to have to watch one here as well. Will be ready soon, however.
10 HOT SUMMER KNIGHT Gets stuck with the bad post again and it is almost not fair. Completely at mercy of pace and trip, since he comes from last. Let's see how it works out.

1 CLASSIC DELIGHT Has yet to hit the board, and delivered an unencouraging qualifier here last week. So, let's take the pass and see approach, even from the rail.
2 PARKAVENUEJULIEANN Turned in a pretty darn good race at Yonkers on Monday, considering her odds! I'd say she's rounding into form nicely for Blake and this is ideal spot to test her on the big track. Expect a decent effort.
3 SANDY SUE Sports a real mixed bag of efforts so far. When I take a look at that last line from Monti, it seems like she was well rated and folded badly into a crawling last half. Would need a complete turnaround to make it work here.
4 ESCAPE AGAIN Tough call here, because this filly showed up ready here last year. Has the benefit of two qualifiers, instead of just one. Should be well-rated off the month off for her owner/trainer. Note Thomas listed self to drive, then switched to Dave Miller.
5 COFFEE'S READY Most experienced filly in field, with 18 starts. And traveled lots of miles between here and Canada. That eight-hole "tour of the track" at Freehold should have her fit and ready for this. Gives #7 a real tussle? Trainer: Has been a lil project horse for me. Was actually sneaky good last week at Freehold.
6 DARK FORCE 1-16 last year at two. That's a lot of starts, but she did get to face better along the way. In the past, this barn's starters have usually needed one. Just went "around there" in qualifier, but it was okay. Should we wait?
7 PAINTED LADY Ordinarily, the first start up from Florida is usually a no-no for me. But, I have to make an exception tonight. It's supposed to be warm this weekend, which should help. So far, she just looks more talented than these. Trainer: Nice filly. Still learning, but has some to go.

1 MADE IT HAPPEN Lone 3YO filly in here simply isn't ready for this yet. It's not the right spot, and she did not qualify particularly well. We'll pass on her for now, and wait for cozier spot.
2 DONATOVER Was awfully good in the qualifier here, and then couldn't handle the half at Freehold. Burned a few bucks at the windows too! With that said, he's quickly right back here, where he belongs. Take a good, long look.
3 GERARD HANOVER Has the looks of a "project horse" for Jonas and co. I don't think he's quite there yet, even though he's a 4YO. Hasn't really come all that close yet and must prove he can stay on stride.
4 ACTIVIST A bit of mixed feelings here as well. We've watched him twice now and I haven't been super impressed. He did go a little faster last time, and I'll add that President Zette is doing well in Pocono series. Time off concerns. Trainer: Missed a few weeks. Trained up and hopefully ready to go!
5 DEJAROVER Took a lot of the betting action last time and promptly broke leaving the gate. Oh well! Prior effort saw him making up nice ground late. This race could have some "action' in it with power to the outside. A maybe.
6 ARGONAUT Definitely a "project" horse for Team Burke here. They got him to stay trotting in most recent qualifier, so that's step in the right direction. That will be the goal tonight. Get away onstride, and STAY onstride. Let's see.
7 CALLADAY ROAD Owned and trained by Camp Callahan, and it's sure taken a while to come around. Now a 4YO, with 18 starts, but best one came last time at Rosecroft. I know they crawled home, but that 27 speed attracts.
8 SEVEN ROSES Mare raced pretty well here twice, so give full credit for that. Handled the turns up at Spa okay and zips back down here. I guess my only knock is the post. She will be tested from this outside slot, with all speed in here.
4 Fourth Race Entries
Picks: 8-2-7-5
H Horse Comment
1 TIGER BOUDOIR That wasn't a bad acclimating mile last week. Gets the same key post to sit and save ground again. Barn a little "overdue" for some success here, and one of these is bound to shock us soon. Count on it!
2 FINA PATINA She's always a fit at this level and also gets a key inside post. For her, it's all about the stamina level. Pilot will have to get her a trip and then kick in. It's possible, but not a lock. Demand value, if you like. Adds Lasix.
3 MATTJESTIC TEMPO Can't say that I was fully enamored with that comebacker, but do recognize that she needed it and this spot is a whole lot more realistic. Better post. The tightener. Some back class. Let's see if any better.
4 RELENTLESS SPIRIT Racing back into shape down in Maryland. Okay. I'm not really sure how that level of race stacks up with these, but I guess we're going to find out. She does have speed, if pilot wants to send. Not worst idea...
5 PIRAEUS Hasn't hit the board yet this year, which is surprising, but she's been in some real tough spots. This could be a tad easier, so let's expect her to get closer. She's a closer, so it's all about pace and trip. Midpack post helps.
6 B N A STARRR Didn't make it to the gate in her first try here. Will probably have to pass after that. Needs more.
7 BLUSH HANOVER Did a lot of the "dirty work' last week, in setting things up for the winner. Give full credit, though, as her effort was solid. Anything close to that stamps her as one to beat again, but this time the post is tougher.
8 MYEYESADOREYA N If you think Blush might be vulnerable in any way, then this is probably your play. Should be sufficiently "speed tightened" after her first go around here. Owns more pure early zip than #7. Might steal away. Trainer: Should fit better in this class. Post is the biggest concern.

1 SWEET JUSTICE Used early in the pace battle last time and got a little tired late. No worries. From the rail, that could be completely different. I know he's not the most consistent horse right now, but his best would give upset shot.
2 CAN DO Returns to the level where he should be more effective. I suspect he'll work out a nice trip, blasting, then sitting behind one of the favorites. That's when he does some damage. Would be hard to leave off the ticket.
3 GLOBAL REVOLUTION Had his "tour" of the oval last week and should benefit from that. I guess the problem is that he's now overclassified. Fits a softer spot, but there isn't one. I'm not sure he's good enough for these.
4 STITCH IN TIME Seems to have regressed just a touch over last few. I'm guessing it will also take a drop back down in class before we see the best from Stitch again. I'm willing to wait.
5 HAILEYSGONEDANCING In for the tag here, and coming off a dig in win at Pocono. With that said, the field she's facing a much tougher field here, and a race that will go a lot faster. She's got to prove it to me at Club Med.
6 TOBER 10YO made $100K last year, with just three wins. It's taken a little while to get himself back into shape, but that's okay. Eventually, he will find the right spot, be it here, or at Yonkers. I'm not sure this is quite it yet.
7 POSSESSED FASHION Had a very good, needed tune up here last week. That was what I expected and definitely feel he will move forward here. Since he's got lot of speed to his outside, it's time to send him out of there. Must leave. Trainer: Was pretty good first start back and should improve.
8 NEW JERSEY VIKING After that convincing win here over lesser in January, the horse disappeared for a bit. Ends up in new barn two months later, and had a vicious second qualifier. If he's THAT good, the rest may be chasing. Trainer: I was very happy with both of his qualifiers for me. Been training good since then and I expect a good effort.
9 UPFRONT BILLY Had Billy drawn an inside post, I would probably give a much bigger chance. This spot looks tough. His game is usually speed, but there could be a LOT of leavers in here tonight. Not sure he can get to the front.
10 TRIUMPHANT'S CHIP Liked him last time and he did provide the goods. BUT, tonight is when his luck runs out.

1 ELYSIUM LINDY Wow! Full credit to Team Burke for having this guy ready off the layoff! Andy Mac drove with complete confidence and maybe he should have. Owns the rail now, vs. overflow field. Same speed coming.
2 DEKEYSER Well, I gave him a chance to bounce back last week and he did not. Off the bandwagon for now. Trainer: Got a little anxious behind the gate last week. Hope to make amends.
3 FILLED DONUT Did a little of the dirty work in round one and didn't perform badly. It wasn't enough to make me want to try him vs. the same foes, but it was encouraging. Let's see if there's any more in the tank tonight.
4 PERSEVERANCE Team JL Cruze has another nice trotter here. Made up ground from impossible spot. This time, he'll need somebody to soften up #1 and #5. Will that happen? I wish I knew. This guy can finish.
5 OPULENT YANKEE It took a BIG mile to collar him last time, so let's not be too hard on him. Team Orange Crush has spaced his races out nicely, and this is first back-to-back week for the gelding. He'll be a little stronger, but w/o Andy.
6 MAJESTIC MISTRESS Did a good job of towing along from the rail in round one. Won't be that easy this week.
7 SUTTON What on earth do we do here? After looking sensational in the qualifier, we got the exact opposite effort in the real race. I'm almost surprised he's right back in the box? Maybe they fixed what was wrong. Andy on again.
8 ROYAL BECCA J A bit of an overaggressive drive in round one, but note how well he held up. What will Jack do tonight, from this post, with the blazing favorites inside? That could be the key to how the race develops. Mayhem?
9 DI OGGI Talk about the bad post blues! This poor guy gets slammed again. I don't see it working out here.
10 LMC MASS GEM Moves from pole to post 10 and you all know how I feel about that. Looks like a pass tonight.
11 DOUBLE L LINDY It's taking a little longer than expected for this guy to find his best stride. No worries. He plots for a pretty nice trip in second tier, right behind speedball #1. That could work out very well, if he's stronger tonight.
7 Seventh Race Entries

1 MACHING ME ZILLY A bit of short rest, after the eight-hole tour of Pocono on Sunday. She was just coming around here before that, so let's expect a return to form. With power on the outside, the price might be right as well.
2 BEYONCES ROCKN This mare is very sharp right now and only reason her luck ran out last time, was the post! Slides back inside here and will be a big factor at some point. Pilot should be able to control own trip. Very usable.
3 JOYFUL GAME In for the optional tag again and these simply look a little too tough for her at moment. I will wait for the drop to a more proper spot, if and when it comes. Trainer: Victim of multiple conditions added to this race. Probably in too tough.
4 NEVER BACK DOWN This doesn't look like the right spot for her either. Tried lesser here last time and wasn't much of a factor. If anything, these look even tougher. Pass.
5 CHEYENNE TRIENGEL Another one that is deceptively sharp at moment. Just toss the race from the 10-hole, off the scratch. This is MUCH more like it, and perfect post for her style. I anticipate lot of action in here. Could set her up.
6 BULLVILLESTEPHANIE Was bet like she would be good last week, and she sure was! Even from post 10! Plus, she proved more versatile than I thought. But, since I didn't have last week, I will hesitate to try now. Your call?
7 FREAKONOMICS See how the earlier Croghan trainee did in first start up from Florida. If that one did well, you can expect this one to go well too! Had the perfect speed prep at the Pomp. She might just "outclass" these.
8 THE GIRLS OF IMAGE Fought tooth and nail last week to a well-rated, well-meant winner. It was good effort, and she went off at overlay odds. Unfortunately, this spot is different. Post hurts. If she doesn't gun, it might be too tough.
9 KNOW IT ALL Here's the key to the race, because she is super right now! BUT, this is ultimate test from the worst post, in a field of other speeds. How's Eric A going to drive her tonight? This will be NO cakewalk from out here. Trainer: Raced very well two starts back. Gave her a week off after four straight starts. But, hindered with the outside post.

1 ROCKIN PRALINE Quickly exits the Burning Point, which looked too tough for her anyway. This spot is right back to where she belongs, and she gets a betting partner too! I mean, she did pace in 51 last time! That's good enough here.
1A JAG OUT Didn't really fire a big shot upon arrival, so I don't know what to expect tonight. But, it probably doesn't matter, because you get #1 if you bet. Let's see if there's any improvement in the tank. Trainer: Poor post. Will need a better effort.
2 ANDERSON SEELSTER Well bet two back and folded up shop. Not bet and not good last week. Hasn't raced herself back into shape quite yet, so I'll pass and watch for anything more here. Needs to find some stamina again.
3 SEA BUG 10YO ships down from Monti for this, and simply put, it looks way too tough. A longshot for sure.
4 WESTS LUCKY ARIA Added Lasix down at Freehold and wasn't exactly exploding. Looks like a one-move grinder and I'm not always a big fan of that. Does get a nice post and hails from dangerous barn. I guess I want to see one here. Trainer: Hadn't been finishing her miles well. Lasix seemed to have helped at Fhld. Looking for more out of her this wk.
5 BRUNHILDA This poor mare just can't get a break! She's been dead game and very good in all recent starts. Tonight, it looks like her and Praline to fight it out late. Would be very hard to leave this lass off the ticket in current form.
6 IDEAL IN CASH Perfect trip and drive from the Captain on this invader for a new lifetime mark. She was very good, even with the trip. This is a slightly better bunch, but she might be up to it. We might see same strong speed.
7 PHYLLIS JEAN Up and down the class ladder lately, everywhere, and she's been stuck in some tough spots. I'm not going to tell you this is any easier, because it's not. Bad post. At mercy of pace and trip. Needs to get lucky.
8 WEEKEND GETAWAY Barn's had a real nice run here so far this year. Tony C has several in tonight. If he's still on a good roll, maybe we include this lass as a longshot? The big knock is probably the price. Miller opted to #5.
9 Ninth Race Entries

1 SUPER S YZERMAN After a real tough trip down at Freehold, I'm not so sure about this gelding's mile track ability anymore. I would need to see a strong one first, before I could endorse.
2 BILLY BUTTON Another veteran gelding here. Does have some bigger track experience, though. Lifetime start #93 and picks up our leading driver. Has speed. That's a potent set of facts, so let's consider Billy a big threat tonight.
3 DEERFIELD BEACH Tough to get a real read on current form here. Returns from Florida. Back into barn that had him last year. Gaps between starts aren't good. BUT, this is supreme soft spot. If even halfway ready, might win. Trainer: Horse has been off nearly six weeks. Seems much healthier, but not sure what to expect.
4 MAKEOUTLIKEAPANDIT Clearly struggled in the one try here. Curious as to why coming back? Overmatched.
5 HICKORY TERRIFIC In for the optional claiming tag here. Seemed to do a whole lot better when he drew a good post. I guess we'll find out if big track quality or not. Post is ideal, since he does look versatile. Usable.
6 BUCKEYE IN CHARGE Hasn't really given the hint that he's ready to return to form just yet. A longshot again.
7 MAY I CRUISE WEST Tough call here! Recent form looks poor, but I do remember some top level efforts here not too long ago. This is nice spot to make a return in. Gets Corey, after Brett was listed. That IS positive intent, folks!
8 JDS BRENT N SHEREE Had just enough sneaky late pace to catch my eye upon arrival. I'm not in love with anybody in here, so here's the longshot pick of the night. Mr. Gale will have to get him into the game a touch earlier, though.
9 DAYLYN HORIZON First start off the long layoff. Qualifiers were not exactly encouraging. Have to pass for now. Trainer: Didn't qualify as I thought he should. Had had a bunch of excuses going for him. Switched up his training tactics this week and made quite a few changes. I'm expecting a much improved effort.
10 ROCK ON THE HILL Hasn't look good in any recent start, so we've got problems here. The post is a killer and I can't really recommend at the moment.
10 Tenth Race Entries

1 PAINITE Nice effort behind the heavily-favored Iron Dome last time. Must deal with same barn on #5 tonight, but it's all about the finish. #5 doesn't always finish the mile. IF he can stay close, will have a shot late.
2 SEVENTEEN TABS Been waiting for some signs of life here. Hasn't been great since that first go. Did get sick, however. Drew a nice post, against a suspect bunch and Andy Mac chose him over #7. H'mmm. Live tonight?
3 TROUBLE RIEU N His last was a bit better effort. He did have some good tries vs. similar a while back. If you tell me there will be more in the tank, I would say use at the expected big price. Capable, if primed and ready for more.
4 FLIRTING DUEZY 9YO doesn't have the look of a mile track horse to me anymore. Struggled here in February.
5 COMMENTARY Back to the bottom rung here, folks, but I do advise caution. He's disappointed at short odds before. Isn't the best "finisher" of a mile here, so it'll be up to Jimmy to save something for late. Vulnerable short favorite? Trainer: Raced okay last week. Had some traffic in front of him. Drops in class, and should be okay in here.
6 LANDONFITZ Yarock listed Dave Miller here, but didn't get him. Still, that was positive intent, but boy has this gelding tailed off of late. However, fields like this can produce sudden returns to form. Ginz will take a shot with him.
7 ROSE RUN QUICKLEY Just when I thought he was ready to return to form, came another dull effort. Andy Mac drove, and now opts off, so that's another negative. Have to wait for some signs of life here before I can bet again.
8 MAJESTIC SUNSET This horse is NOT a quick starter, so this post becomes a major issue. Plus, the price isn't going to be all that big anyway. Horse is okay right now, but will need to get a little luckier to sweep these from the back. Trainer: Gelding is in good form. Driver just needs to avoid the traffic from outside post.
9 MR LOVER This guy is even slower behind the gate than #8. Often starts a length or two off the gate, so I'd be a bit wary about taking any short price here either. If there's mayhem, he can finish. Otherwise, too far back?
10 BETTER TO BE LUCKY Probably the key to the race, as Dave Miller's choice. As previously said, barn has a bunch in here tonight, and if it's been a good night, expect it to continue. Horse fits this group, IF he wants to stay trotting.
