1 First Race Entries
Picks: 6-2-5-9
H Horse Comment
1 RINGSIDE NGUYEN Gets the pylon draw again and it appears another similar journey is in store Last race mirrored that prior effort.
2 IDEAL REVENUE I like the progress being shown here and young Marcus Miller seems to get along well with him. Logical contender.
3 CASSA IMAGE Campbell had his choice of three and he lands here. Only one lifetime start so this is a candidate to improve.
4 MAJESTIC HIT Debuts for a new barn here and that qualifier was not too shabby. Gelding has some potential and should offer value.
5 LEAVE YOUR MARK First start off the long layoff was not bad, although I guess he disappointed bettors. Should be even better now.
6 GOTTHEMUSICINYOU Exits the same race as Ideal Revenue and these two seem to go hand in hand. Obviously, one of the players.
7 BRISSOT Form has been spotty and that 1 for 28 mark doesn’t inspire much confidence in a field that has some upside to it.
8 AMARCORD Off his last two races he has to be considered a longshot as well. Need to see more before I can recommend.
9 COOKIE’S KID Nice win at Freehold and making an easy lead from post 7 at Freehold is impressive. Things do get tougher here.
10 JAILHOUSE JUICE Shows a mile in the Singer that would win this race. His lack of speed is a concern given this wide draw.
2 Second Race Entries
Picks: 7-4-1-5
H Horse Comment
1 CELTIC MERCHANT Has been facing better at Yonkers and really had no chance in two of his last three. Stacks up well in here.
2 ORDER BY CORLEONE Shows a decent race here, but when last teamed with Donelly, he broke. Effort from 1/31 was OK.
3 LIVID LUKE Coming out of softer races so this will be tougher. Dunn seems to have some speed in his arsenal here. Moves early.
4 BENN’S STARLET Hard to knock this mares form at Monticello. Obviously M1 and Monti are 2 different stories. Gets a top amateur.
5 CDS ELDORADO This gelding is pretty sharp as well and appears to be one of the fastest of this group. Teamed with a solid amateur, too.
6 FOR GOODNESS LINDY Last couple of starts are better and he often takes play. Still, he is stepping in against tougher this time.
7 SCORPION MOON He’s the fastest horse in the race and is teamed with a pilot that has won here before. Looms as the one to beat.
8 SOME KINDA SPUNKY Effort two starts back wasn’t bad, but he is going to have to be even better than that here. Longshot.
9 ROMPAWAY ALVIN Last pair of starts aren’t bad and this gelding won over $70k last year as well. I wouldn’t sell too short here.
10 WHATNBLAZES Tough draw, although this gelding has the speed to overcome the post. Offenberg has done well with him recently.
3 Third Race Entries
Picks: 6-8-7-2
H Horse Comment
1 SO FEMININE Mare looks overmatched in this spot. Stepping in against tougher. The post may keep her closer early, but is still a longshot.
2 CHEYENNE PATTI Disappointing effort last time, but it is good to see Surick put her right back in. This field is a tough softer than last.
3 FEDS EXPRESS Last couple of efforts have been an improvement, but this is going to be a tougher task. Miller chooses off, also.
4 KISSMATT Callahan’s choice has not been racing that well at Yonkers recently, although her last race was slightly better. Watching.
5 HARPER LEE She should have been better in her most recent start at The Meadowlands. Scratched from Yonkers Thursday for this.
6 I DO IT MYSELF She was finishing with OK pace last week and now moves back to the level of her most recent win. Bounce-back possible.
7 KIMMY Nice rally last week, but she came up short again. Likely to be favored, or close to it here, but I will continue to use her underneath.
8 CAROLSTERN She was better last week, but the post-position gods remain unkind to her. She will have to come from last again.
4 Fourth Race Entries
Picks: 4-3-7-8
H Horse Comment
1 BULLVILLE ATA GIRL Her first pair of starts this year don’t inspire much confidence and note this is a 3YO filly facing older horses.
2 BAD DAY BLACK ROCK I will forgive that break from post 8 at Philly last time. Prior effort was solid. Wasn’t Callahan’s choice. Tricky.
3 RACING DREAMS I think this mare is in better form that her past performances show and if Callahan can work out a trip, lookout.
4 MR FENWICK The drop in class from C-1 to C-2 has been very strong so far this meet. His speed will make him very tough to catch.
5 B L CLASS ACT Off a pair of breaks and a less than inspiring qualifier. Was not Macdonald’s choice either. I need to see more, first.
6 WYGANT PRINCE Came back with a solid try on 2/28, but he has regressed in his last pair of start. I need to see some improvement.
7 O DANA O I have a feeling this mare is sitting on a big race. She finished with a flurry last week and if she can stay closer, she contends.
8 PAISLEY Raced well behind a horse dropping in class. Showed good speed there and is Miller’s choice in here. A logical contender.
9 MONICA’S IMAGE Buter and Messenger going back and forth claiming this mare. I like that, but still feel this is a little too tough for her.
10 WEEKEND VACATION Has not been much of a factor and now draws the widest post without much early speed. Not sold here.
5 Fifth Race Entries
Picks: 4-8-6-2
H Horse Comment
1 ALL MUNKY BUSINESS Yes, she is dropping in class, but so is more than half this field. This is a stronger than usual B-1 trot. In tough.
2 LEXIS AMIGO Adds Lasix for this and with his speed that will draw some attention. One of several major players in a deep field.
3 WHEELS Win came against softer and he was a price in that event. This will be a much taller task and he figures to be a price again.
4 BASTILLE He has been racing against some tough customers recently, including Sevruga and Quick Deal. Take a long look here.
5 TOP BILLING He caught a very sharp horse in Harbor Point. That was a good effort and you have to figure he is going to take play.
6 SPICE IT UP LINDY Another that has been facing some tough customers. That last trip was a tough one as well. Some things to like.
7 DOUBLE UP HANOVER Campbell chooses off and despite how good this horse can be at time, this field came up very salty. Longshot.
8 ZUEREST Another that has been in very tough lately and he should appreciate this slight move down in class. Expect speed. Must include.
9 FREE ROLLIN Pulled an upset at Yonkers at 30-1, but that was a good field. Raced well last time out too. This is even tougher. Tricky.
6 Sixth Race Entries
Picks: 6-2-7-3
H Horse Comment
1 IF I DIDN’T CARE Nice win last time but now this mare steps up against tougher. Draws inside, but I will slide her on the bottom of exotics.
2 LOVE YOU ALWAYS Hard not to like when a mare comes home in 26.4. Right back in the same level. Callahan just has to stay closer.
3 CAMPHOR HANOVER She has been racing OK against a couple of decent fields at Yonkers. This field is no walk in the park, though.
4 DREAM’S BAR Surprised she didn’t race better on the move down based on her previous B-2 efforts. Must improve once again.
5 LIZZIE’S DREAM She has tailed off and this field came up tougher than a typical C-1/B-2 Handicap. Need to see a turnaround.
6 CLEAR VIEW HANOVER This is a serious move down in class and she is facing lighter than she has in some time. One to beat now.
7 GORDYS FILLY YENTA Made two moves to the lead last time, just got collared. Right back in a similar spot. Looms a contender.
8 LOVE YOU BYE Not a bad try from the widest post last time. This field is tougher and she will be widest of all again. Fringe player.
7 Seventh Race Entries
Picks: 6-7-5-4
H Horse Comment
1 WESTSIDE LINDY Moving up the ladder off a win. That’s the good news, the bad news is like many races tonight, this came up tough!
2 NEW ZION Loses Miller this time, so that will turn the bettors off. But this horse is capable of hitting the ticket here. Bottom of exotics.
3 IN FOCUS Millionaire qualified well, but finished well back of Temple Of Doom, who he faces tonight. Still, cannot be ignored.
4 MELADY’S MONET Gelding looked like a standout in that last field and he was. This is much tougher. Moves up, faces older.
5 TEMPLE OF DOOM Off for a long time. Julie Miller reports the injury was a broken coffin bone. Hobbles came off in that QUA. Tricky.
6 OUTLAW He responded to the move down in class in his last pair of starts. This will be tougher and he is a very slow starter. Tough call.
7 CAMERON CHIP Not a bad try from that tough post and I think this mare is starting to put it back together. Should be a price here.
8 KENDALL BLUE I would reign in the excitement with those qualifiers as we have seen that from Dover shipper before. Not sold here.
9 IN NOMINE PATRI He looked the best in that last start and was flattered when Melady’s Monet came back to win. Still, this is tougher.
10 VAPORSTAR Just has not been himself the last couple of starts. Now he has the widest of draws. Too many other options in here.
8 Eigth Race Entries
Picks: 8-1-9-3
H Horse Comment
1 FOUNTAINBLEAU VOLO Likely to take plenty of money here based on that 27.3 final quarter. Feel like he will be all or nothing here.
2 CHOCOHOLIC Respect this mare as she seems to race to her ability. I feel this race came up a little bit tougher for her, though.
3 SPECTATOR K Always felt this guy had ability and he is really good when he minds his manners. I wouldn’t sell too short here.
4 LADY DYNAMITE That was not a bad try in her first start back. This is a 3YO filly facing older, but I wouldn’t be shocked by improvement.
5 MISS LEE It appears she has found a level that she can pick up some checks. This particular field seems on par with that. Use a bit.
6 MISS CONNOR Coming off back to back wins. Things get much tougher tonight and Campbell will drive the horse he owns a share of.
7 TAKE HEART Those last two fields on paper look tougher than this, but he wasn’t lighting it up at this level either. Tricky read here.
8 GAELIC AND GARLIC He seems to have come to life recently and moves in against older horses now as well. Still a win contender.
9 DASH FOR THE CASH Moves down to the lowest level we have seen in some time. Has speed, so I’m not worried about the draw.
10 FROM ABOVE Form is yet to improve and is once again stuck in the widest of posts. Still cannot endorse until he shows improvement.
9 Ninth Race Entries
Picks: 6-2-3-5
H Horse Comment
1 PEOPLE FRIENDLY Makes her second start back off the layoff and if she can improve off her first try back, she is a contender.
2 HERE AGAIN Good try last time behind a talented filly. She seems to be headed in the right direction. Was Miller’s choice of three.
3 SOLID QUEEN Exits the same race as Here Again, and I kind of like both of them a little bit here. Still, needs to improve to win this.
4 PERSUASIVE HANOVER She was OK in the Petticoat at Yonkers. This is a similar spot and feel a minor award is still her ceiling.
5 SOUTHWIND LAVANDA This is a class drop into this nw2 condition. Good starting slot and that will give Berry options. Contender.
6 SLEAZY DOES IT This is a big class drop as the winner of that last start would be 1-5 in here. Off that, could be the one to beat.
7 I AM A WITCH Well beaten at this level last time and it will take a turnaround at this point for her to contend in here. Longshot.
8 BUBBY JO Qualifiers are OK, but off this layoff you have to figure that she is going to need a start before we see her best.
9 MS CAILA J FRA I think she has tailed off and now Dave Miller opts off as well. Maybe she can earn a small share, but not much more.
10 Tenth Race Entries
Picks: 6-5-1-9
H Horse Comment
1 SPECIAL COMMAND Coming off a break at Philly. Last few starts at Yonkers were OK. Not Pierce’s choice. Some mixed feelings here.
2 BROADWAYS FORTUNE Last qualifier was a little bit better, but she has just been too inconsistent for me to consider here.
3 NEW YORKS FINEST Another whose form just has not been sharp lately. Last start he couldn’t stay trotting either. A longshot.
4 TOUGH TOUCH Showed improvement in that last qualifier but is still off for a few months and I would like to watch a start first.
5 BUZZ BOMB It his hit or miss with this gelding as he brings a mixed bag of efforts. Keep in mind, this is a 5YO with just 14 lifetime starts.
6 GET CHIPPED That was a sharp win the other day at Yonkers and if she can carry that form over here, then she has to be a contender.
7 TIA MARIA KOSMOS Always believed she was better suited for the smaller tracks. Hard to recommend her off her recent try at the Spa.
8 STARGLOW HALL It appears she has tailed off now and although she still has some early speed, I am not seeing enough from her late.
9 BLOMKVIST He has the ability to win this race, but he comes as a risk as well. Pierce does land here over two others. Mixed feelings.
10 AUTUMN TREASURE Gets some class relief and is coming out of a decent mile. Still have to question her lack of speed from here.
11 Eleventh Race Entries
Picks: 7-4-6-1
H Horse Comment
1 HARBOR POINT I think it is safe to say that he is back. Pierce sticks, too. This is a major test for him, but he wouldn’t shock me now.
2 IL MAGO He has gotten on a nice roll lately, but beating Double Up Hanover and beating Sevruga are two very different things.
3 BEATGOESON HANOVER Miller has been getting first call for Burke, but he knows Gingras gets ‘Unefoisdansmavie the rest of the year…
4 ICE MACHINE His last win might have been the most impressive effort of his career. Is he ready to repeat that mile? If he is, lookout.
5 UNEFOISDANSMAVIE She beat Ice Machine and others in her last start. Not sure why she got some time off. Qualifier was good.
6 OPENING NIGHT He was rolling late last week and seems to be consistently good right now. One of a handful of contenders here.
7 SEVRUGA Remains the one to beat and he was very impressive last time. Tall Cotton didn’t fire last week, but Ice Machine did. Tough.
12 Twelfth Race Entries
Picks: 4-9-6-1
H Horse Comment
1 SCHALOM G May have had some sneaky trot at the end of that last mile. Likely in line for a similar journey from here. Callahan’s choice.
2 FAT BOY Will he stay trotting? He is OK in the mornings, but under the lights is a different story. Most recent qualifier was just OK, too.
3 BIG SKY ANGELINA Form has been dull lately and it will take some improvement before I can consider her a contender.
4 MYSTICAL CON Last time he raced at this level he went off at 6-5 and won. This is a softer spot than he typically faces. Very tough.
5 LABIRINTO SAS IT Outraced his odds at this level earlier in the meet, but he was a non-factor last time. Retains longshot status.
6 CELEBRITY LOVIN Last pair of efforts weren’t bad and there are some things to like. With a trip, he is a prime candidate to hit the ticket.
7 JAKE BE NIMBLE Just comes with too much of a risk for me. Was not Pierce’s choice in here either. I will be looking elsewhere.
8 BALTIMOR AS Shows a couple of decent tries at the nw2 level. This is a move up the ladder, so it will take more to breakthrough here.
9 RULE BY STRENGTH Shows a line against nw18000L6. That is a much tougher spot than this. Getting some needed class relief.
10 HEIDI FALLS Not sure what happened last time, but after that mile and drawing post 10 here, it is hard to land on this gelding.
13 Thirteenth Race Entries
Picks: 3-6-2-9
H Horse Comment
1 DIPIERTRANTONIO Aggressive move last week, but she just didn’t have enough left in the stretch. Looks like a fringe player at best.
2 JULIA’S WAY Shows a mixed bag of efforts lately. Still, this mare is Campbell’s choice and I think we may see some speed tonight.
3 RINGSIDE LAURYN This class drop resulted in a sharp win two starts back. Finally gets a decent draw as well. Looms the one to beat.
4 SAM’S HONEYBEE Not a bad try at this level, where she picked up a check. Clearly, she will need more to win. Minor award possible.
5 IMA QUE T Exits a particularly strong qualifier but has been off for 7 months. Have to figure this mare needs a start. Not yet.
6 BIG SKY BATS Raced well last time and now comes right back in a similar spot. With any kind of trip, Bats will be passing horses.
7 GRECALE AS Also comes with a mixed bag of efforts and Campbell opts off. Already having a much better year than last year. Tricky.
8 AX MAN Off his most recent races, I just cannot recommend him at this time. Doesn’t have much speed and he needs to improve.
9 AEQUITAS Miller’s choice shows races against better recently. I would toss out the break at Philly. There are things to like here.
10 PERMANENT JOY Krivelin driving himself. This horse has a class edge on a few of these, and I would toss him on some of your tickets.
