H Horse Comment
1 FOX VALLEY STEFFEN Used pretty hard early last time and paid the price late. That seems to be the MO of this veteran. From the rail, things could be different? Might save a little something for the end. Not out of it.
2 REAL DJ HANOVER Had every chance a couple of weeks ago, but just could not hang on. Same situation here, perhaps against a better bunch? Also, faces more pressure early from the likes of #1,6,8. In sale in 10 days.
3 BOLD FRESH Gets a touch of much needed post relief and it will help. Looks like the prime closer in here with a big chance. Any smooth journey from Hall adds to the equation. Would be hard to leave out of this, with one big move.
4 ARUBA VACATION Squandered a wonderful opportunity last time, in the garden spot behind #8. Unfortunately, just wasn't able to keep up. Not sure I can be too positive off that effort. Would need a whole lot more tonight.
5 SONG OF THE VALLEY I'm not a big fan of this horse right now, but she did have some traffic issues last time. I am a fan of Joe's driving. He usually puts a horse in the right spot to give them best chance. Will need a little Lee Magic!
6 KEYSTONE THOMAS In a field full of speedballs, it will be an interesting sprint into the first turn. It's supposed to be wicked cold and possibly windy, so in truth, I don't like any of the speeds. Still needs to work on that stamina.
7 ANGEL ASSAULT Not sure what happened last time, but this mare was WAY off the gate. It cost her any chance and I do believe she's better than that. Could be one of the live "price plays" in spot like this. Get her on the gate this time!
8 URIEL No, I cannot explain where that mile came from last week. I will simply congratulate Ms. Stoebe on her first driving win. Will she do it again? Not really sure. I guess if you didn't go to the wedding, it's hard to bet now.
9 DRAMA FREE Fresh claim here by Team Harmon. They're pretty good at that game. No, I don't like the post, but recognize the speed. Might have to do a little "closing" tonight with all the other speedballs. Tough spot.
10 ROCKIN REDFORD MIA since Dec. 7, so that's a worry for me. That, plus post 10, make him a pass tonight.

Picks: 8-10-2-6
H Horse Comment
1 BROADWAY GABRIELLE Made no real impact at 90-1 against these last week. Tough to like a lot now.
2 PRESIDENT ZETTE That was a pretty good first start back off the freshening. In a race with a LOT of question marks, at least this 4YO went forward. I don't like the early lagging part, but inside post should keep close enough.
3 FORTUNES ONE Sports an 0-26 record lifetime, so that's a problem. I never like to see the scratch, or the recent slow times. Have to rate this one a longshot until we see a whole lot more.
4 LOTHARIO Regressed into another of his many miscues last time, so I will continue to stay away from this fella. He even went off at underlay odds last out. So, I am not willing to consider until he gets his act together.
5 OVER HER LIMIT Broke in first start since the summer, so she's basically almost unplayable for now. Dismiss.
6 RECEIVERSHIP I did advise "caution" with this gelding last time and I will do so again. Wasn't even close to getting to the gate, so be wary. Joe gets back aboard and he got along with him in the qualifier. If he trots. he can win. Trainer: Was too hot scoring down last time. His gait seemed good, though. Joe will look to keep him more relaxed in parade.
7 DANISH DESIGN Got parked out last time, so let's not be too hard on him. The prior start at Philly wasn't bad, but in truth, the horse is just 1-30 and isn't totally safe behind the gate. Hard to get really excited about him right now.
8 ELEVENTEEN I really liked this fella last time and was somewhat disappointed. Marcus fired him out, ended up with a great trip behind the winner and simply got tired late. Did he need that start? He did list Brett Miller this time. Trainer: was okay two weeks ago, she almost rolled over the whole last quarter and I couldn't let her finish the way I wanted. I will change shoes and expect a good effort.
9 FLAMINGO PETE Missed a couple of weeks after the tiring speed try on closing day at the Spa. Ok. Prior start here on the mile track was nothing to write home about. Not sure I can fully endorse him from way out here tonight.
10 BREAK FREE Boy, is this fella suffering a case of the bad post blues! If anything, this bunch might be a tad softer than those recent ones against the likes of Iron Dome, etc. Any smooth trip he does have a big chance. Brett's choice.
3 Third Race Entries
Picks: 3-6-5-2
H Horse Comment
1 TWICE TOO NICE Comes off a scratch and a slowish kind of qualifier. Not sure she's Big M quality yet.
2 DRIVING MISS CRAZY The qualifier was good. The trip in the real race was not. It's all about pace and trip in races like this on a cold night. She does have a big chance, but will need to have a few things go her way.
3 A PENNY EARNED Last week's try was best I've seen yet from this fella. Prince of Minto won like a 1-5 shot, and this guy chased willingly. Brett had a choice and opted here over #10, so that has to tell us something. Post relief too!
4 DULUTH Also finally gets away from Prince of Minto, so that should help. It's been a long time since he won a race, but if you were looking for a live longshot to toss in underneath, I probably wouldn't talk you off this one.
5 HAILEYSGONEDANCING In for the tag here, so that's why she fits the race. This is a pretty solid class drop. The post is ideal and look who's back driving? A Nap. Will need a little more than last time, but maybe it's there.
6 ROADSHOW VIC Mitch has put the 11YO in play last few, but the trips just didn't work out. This could be different. I wouldn't be shocked to see a send in here and horse is quick enough to get there. A decent chance at price.
7 NEW YORK ATTITUDE I do not give this one much of a chance, based on current form. It's just poor.
8 LADY ZETTE Not a whole lot on view here either. I would be rather hard pressed to come up with a reason to toss her onto the ticket from a tough, outside post. Not quite my type.
9 ELUSIVE ACTION Shows a lot of bad posts lately and a recent break. Gets slammed with a post nine start for mile track try and that may not be in his favor either. For the longshot specialists out there. I'm not one of them.
10 MUAY HANOVER Really don't know what to do here. Moves from pole to post 10, which is bad. Didn't get the choice from Brett Miller, but I did expect that. Did have an improved start last time, but was that a fluke? Can he leave?
4 Fourth Race Entries
Picks: 5-7-1-6
H Horse Comment
1 E L DARTSMYBOY Gets some much needed post relief after a Big M debut that left me wanting. His better races up at the Spa came from inside posts. I guess we'll look for a little more out of him tonight. Usable at decent price.
2 DRUNKEN TERROR In from the Meadows for a big track try and I'm not so sure that's the answer. Made a lot of starts last year, so at least he's durable. I guess I'll probably end up watching one to see if he belongs. Nap's pick.
3 MODERN YANKEE Got parked in a bitter duel last, so don't hold that against him. If anything, I like the speed he showed! Much better post here, so maybe we can save that burst? Wasn't Brett's choice, but still has chance.
4 ENERGY SHAKES Not really going well right now, so let's pass on him, until we see some improvement.
5 EVERY INTENTION It's hard to believe he won last time! Why? Because all us handicappers picked him! That's a lot of weight to carry, but horse came through after A Nap rated nice pace. Facing a bit better, but loses Nap to #2. Trainer: Horse was good last week and is in with comparable company this week.
6 WELLWESAID What a BIG mile that was last week! Overcame some bad cover and sustained a solid rally to get the second straight win. Same spot here, but with new driver, since Marohn got some days. Still needs decent trip.
7 MAY I CRUISE WEST Yes, I must admit, he was a little flat last time at the short price. Moves back to outer post, so maybe that will help? He's been a better "closer" lately, than speed horse. If not favored here, I might consider. Trainer: Been racing well, but post may hurt, however.
8 FLY'N WITH ROYALTY Very, very hard to get a gauge on this fella right now. Between the scratch, and inconsistent efforts, I just don't know what to expect. Simply put, it's your call! Will the good Fly show up tonight? Who knows.
9 JUS' LIKE A VIRGIN Wasn't bad here in that try two back. I guess if we just toss the Freehold race, we can expect better here? A big 'ol maybe, though, from the terrible post here. Doesn't seem to do well from bad posts.
10 DANISH DILIGENCE Doesn't look like a threat to these from a starting slot like this. Not quite my type.
5 Fifth Race Entries
Picks: 1-2-7-3
H Horse Comment
1 MOONLIGHT COCKTAIL Taking a solid class drop here, plus she didn't have much chance last time, suffering from poor cover. THIS is the spot, folks! She should be tough to beat in easiest spot in a long time. The choice!
2 CAULFIELD Pretty disappointing a couple weeks ago on the drop to this level. Had a tough trip, but still! Gets a new driver tonight, with Jimmy on days. I suppose if you bet last time, you might try to get your money back. Better odds.
3 ITS CHOCOLATE TIME In for the tag here, and coming off a decent effort where he outraced his odds. Seems like bit of a slow starter, so it will be ALL about pace and trip. Needs a few things to go his way.
4 TRUE FRIENDS Another taking a class drop, but I'm not so sure about how sharp this horse is. She was pretty flat in last few races, and it's always hard to predict total turnarounds. That's what she would need to beat #1. Sale bound. Trainer: Raced decent last start, trained good and should appreciate the class relief.
5 PARTY ON THE RIVER Sometimes in horse racing, things just baffle you! That would be the case for this gelding. Two straight wins at huge odds, but I will admit, if he beats this bunch, I would be absolutely shocked. Let's see.
6 BOOTSWITHTHEFUR Cruised at Freehold when claimed. This is a decent claiming barn, but even I will admit this is a MUCH tougher spot. Is 9YO gelding quick enough to trot with the likes of #1,7? I'm going to guess no.
7 NEW JERSEY VIKING Definitely on the improve at the moment, so I won't argue that. Recently added Lasix seems to be helping and note he comes out of a quick mile. I guess if he gets lead easily, chances vs. #1 go up. Hip #167 in sale.
8 WHERE TO HANOVER Yes, he took that skippy step leaving the gate last week, but recovered nicely and came on with decent finish. However, tonight, he draws poor post and driver will have to be careful early. Won't be easy.
9 DNIEPER Can't really make a strong case for this guy in a terrible post. Has little speed. Clearly up against it.
10 FREDDIE MAC Barn's other starter gets the tougher post and even though he's dropping slightly, this is no easy spot. If you use him early, he tends to tire a little late. Pilot will have to work out some sort of trip. Never easy in pp10.
6 Sixth Race Entries
Picks: 6-3-1-7
H Horse Comment
1 LUCKY PLAYER Didn't show an awful lot in that first try here. I always hesitate to ignore anything from this barn. Let's be positive and expect to see a little more in the follow-up. This is WIDE OPEN race. Anybody can win.
2 MELANIES SHARKETTE VInny put this mare in decent spot last few and she was downright empty late. With that said, I would be hard pressed to expect that much more, but you never know from this barn. Wakeup call?
3 BEAUTIFUL LADY Gets the very tepid call as morning line favorite, in this hard-to-handicap race. Why? Post and class relief! That could easily add up to better effort. She's won here before. Hasn't been in this cheap in long time.
4 FUTURE LIFE Didn't really open my eyes in her first few here. Maybe she doesn't belong on big track? That could be, but new barn just hasn't figured her out yet. Maybe it will come. Maybe it won't. We'll find out soon enough. Trainer: Locked in last week, hopefully going to get a better trip.
5 MISQUED As previously stated, she's in the sale and just isn't sharp right now. Hard to bet on at moment, but needs a good one before the sale on Jan. 15. She does get Brett Miller back, so maybe that's a sign of more to come. Trainer: Missed a week of racing, but trained good this week. Hoping for a good effort.
6 KEYSTONE I WISH Nice drive by Eric A last time. She shouldn't have been 90-1 in there and she had speed at both ends. I think that's a signal she might be ready to return to form. Let's see same speed, please. Very usable.
7 DOUBLE JOY Wasn't bad for Brett here two back, but she wasn't sensational either. Since he opted for #5, I'm not really sure what to do. To complicate matters, Andy ends up here over #10. Go figure that! Very confusing.
8 DANDY'S BEAUTY Not going great guns right now, and not getting lucky at post draws. Have to pass again.
9 RELENTLESS SPIRIT Shipped up from Maryland and didn't offer a whole lot. Rode the rail and got shuffled. This is a drop, however, but a real bad post. Not completely out of it, but will have to show a lot more speed.
10 PURITY Well, we know she's got speed, but she doesn't always have the stamina. Simply got run over when hiked up to this level last week, and she gets slammed with same bad post. Is that going to work out? Maybe not.
7 Seventh Race Entries
Picks: 1-9-2-8
H Horse Comment
1 MORE THAN TALK Pretty solid effort to beat the weaker group upon arrival in first start for Burke Brigade. How good is he? I guess we're going to find, because this bunch is a little tougher. The rail helps, of course. Must go faster.
2 HE'S GONE Came flying home with a much improved effort last time. Went off long odds too! I like the post relief and fact that Carlson is back aboard. There could be some action in here, to set up that rally. Very usable. Trainer: Good effort for his confidence last time. Trained well since.
3 FLAGSTAFF Looks like a private purchase for Beyer. Will have to prove he can hack it on mile, but I will be watching closely. This is the ideal spot to start. Inside post helps. Have to watch one for now.
4 OSVALDO BLUE CHIP Didn't end his 3YO season very well with that break. If I remember correctly, his dam was a very small filly, so maybe the big track won't be his thing. Qualifier was okay, though. Another I need to see one.
5 SIGNAL HILL Launched a pretty wide move last week and just couldn't sustain it. Maybe he needed that start? He is in the sale, so we're running out of time to impress any potential buyers. Needs to come up with a good one.
6 ZETTE STARLING Made no real impact at long odds upon arrival, but that was a decent bunch. Couple of her efforts were okay. I guess I wouldn't be shocked if we saw a little more. I usually need to see it first. Your call?
7 KI KI CANOLLI Love the name, but wonder about the mare on the mile track. She's missed a few weeks, which always is a concern. She doesn't seem to pack much blast out speed, so that's a worry. Outer post. I'm not sold just yet, but she'll sell in 10 days as Hip #124.
8 ANOTHER CHAPTER If you think you can beat #1, this may be your best option. Solid qualifier for new barn. Brett's choice. Didn't start that qua too quick, but, I guess I wouldn't talk you off him. Only needs go a little faster tonight. Trainer: Qualified good, and also had a good week.
9 HIGH GLIDER Solid effort against uncatchable winner last out. The aggressive steer helped put him in good position. This testing post will be rough again, but Marcus will have to find a way to work out a trip. It won't be easy.

1 BESTGIRLFRIENDEVER I still think she's in a little tough here, but she was better than you think last week. If you were searching for a live "use" horse in the gimmicks, don't hesitate to toss her in. Will offer the right kind of value.
2 BARYNYA A Outraced her odds with a decent try despite post 10 last week. Unfortunately, she's forced up in class again, but at least has better post. I have to rate her a longshot again, but she is good right now.
3 VEGAS IN STYLE Used pretty hard last time and paid the price late. Not sure what to think off that effort. Got an extra week off, so maybe that will help. Plus, the class drop has to help, right? If wakeup call is coming, maybe tonight.
4 SHEEZA SHARK N Continues her descent down the class ladder, in need of improvement. Gets a better post too, for her new barn. I can't predict total turnarounds, but she's one of the possibilities in here. Let's watch the board.
5 CHEYENNE ROBIN Sale bound 6YO took some tote action last week, but never really fired. I thought she would need that race, so we'll find out if she's ready to roll now. Since she's dropping a touch too, it might be time to bet. Trainer: She had a good week, although we'd both rather be in Aruba!
6 ANALYZE Barn is not exactly off to a great start this winter meet, but that will change, and probably sooner rather than later. Also paid the price for a hot pace last time. Different trip likely in this spot. Could get a lot closer.
7 SPILLING THE BEANS Also used pretty hard last time, so don't be too hard on her. She did prove she can go with these, but does get stuck with another difficult post. Brett opted off again, so very mixed signals here.
8 LITTLE MISS WOOHOO Up from Maryland and into a very tough spot. Will have to watch one here first.
9 DRAG N SAND MIA for a few weeks, like several from this barn right now. In a race full of class droppers, she's the one taking a hike. That's not often a recipe success, and I haven't even mentioned the post yet. Not for me.
10 AREYOUREADYGIRL N Also missing about three weeks, so that's an issue. Recently on Lasix, so that should be helping by now, but here's another case of "I want to watch one" from the dreaded 10-hole, with Brett opting off.
9 Ninth Race Entries
Picks: 9-4-6-2
H Horse Comment
1 ASHES CASH Didn't offer much at 65-1 in debut here. The post is better, but I still need to see more.
2 SWEET JUSTICE Loved him last time in the amateur race and he got parked out for life. Ouch! So, this is a big bump back up in class and Brett was listed, yet opted to #4. Very mixed feelings tonight, but I'd want big price to use.
3 RAISE THE CURTAIN After a string of good races a while back, I think he's starting to tail off just a touch. Pretty flat last week, despite a smooth trip. He might need additional class relief before the wakeup call comes.
4 P L ICABOD Super Brett sticks here, but I do wonder if the horse just doesn't want to win! He's never a big price, but did prove he belongs in this class. The post relief will aid the speed. Would be hard to leave off ticket, even as fave.
5 ROUNDTOWN ROCKER Back from a quick trip up to Monti and a miscue. Ok. We can forgive that. This level is about where he should be able to do some work. I love the post, since he's a closer. Hoping somebody softens up #4.
6 ROSSINI That was SOME mile this fella turned in two weeks ago. Big effort! With that said, is he good enough to go with these? It's a legitimate question. Will probably try to grind into it again. IF flow is live, he has a chance.
7 LOU MAN A poor outer tier did nothing to help Lou's chances vs. weaker. He did make up nice ground, beaten by the perfect trip winner. Problems tonight include tougher post, class hike, and loss of Brett. Your call, folks?
8 SHADY MCCOY Benefited from a perfect trip and drive from Eric A last week, but I will say this, McCoy tends to win on class drops, not hikes! He moves back to tough post, and I just don't see it working out so well tonight. Trainer: Responded to a perfect trip following the dueling leaders in a fast first half. Up in class, but has been sharp of late.
9 ALEXANDER HANOVER Iron-tough horse made 42 starts last year, and now, after a trip over the track, with a class drop tonight, it might be time to consider. Did very well against similar back at Philly. Knocks: Nap off, plus bad post.
10 PIERCEWAVE HANOVER MIA since leaving Saratoga on a winning note. That was several weeks ago, so be careful. Has a touch of back class to work with, but this is no easy spot in the 10-hole. At a big price only, folks.
10 Tenth Race Entries
Picks: 4-8-6-2
H Horse Comment
1 TEASIN N PLEASIN Back after a couple of weeks, and an eight-hole disaster at Yonkers. She was racing well here before that, but against a touch lesser. Was Brett's choice here, so that is telling to me. A price play on rail.
2 COMMENTARY What do we do here? First start up from Florida and about to make just second start for the barn. The speed is there, but can he possibly be primed and ready for a very cold night? I have no idea.
3 MARION GONDOLIER Hasn't shown much lately, so must be rated a big longshot again. Not quite my type.
4 NEVERDIE Gets a touch of much needed post relief and Cushing back. Been hinting at something big for a while and I would definitely consider tossing him into a box. It's wide open race and he'll be close enough tonight. Usable.
5 STEAL N GAS Unraced since 12/8, and it was a dull effort. I can't imagine he's primed and ready for this. Pass.
6 A JERSEY CONTRACT It's a class drop, after some decent efforts up at the Spa. Was technically facing some better foes when at Pocono. This is perfect spot to wake back up in, but would have liked more if Brett chose this one.
7 DOMINUS HANOVER Very mixed form of late, but very likely to attract betting support with A Nap aboard. If price is low, then I'll probably swing against. Doesn't really win all that often and drew outer post. Not an easy spot.
8 PILGRIMS TIDE Had an ideal "acclimating" mile from the bad post last week and was trotting willingly too late. If you think he needed that, and will be better tonight, then go ahead and bet! I won't stop you! Might be right.
9 HEAVENLY ZETTE Really struggled in that last try here and shows up again with that 1-28 record last year. Doesn't appear to pack any strong early speed and gets slammed with a terrible post. That's not a lot of positives.
10 CELEBRITY STIMULUS Speaking of speed, we know he packs plenty of it. Got parked in bitter duel last time, but was very "lucky" to hold on with perfect trip before that. I think his luck will run out again tonight.
11 Eleventh Race Entries

H Horse Comment
1 YO CHEYENNE ROCKY Charged home a little too late last time at 5-2. Still, it was good effort and solid step in the right direction. Seems to be coming around and drew ideal post for Team Siegelman. Can he win this? Absolutely.
2 FOOL OF IDEAS Scratched out of first attempt here, so that's never a good thing. Tries again, in decent post, but with weak overall record. Think I'm leaning in the "no" direction. Would like to watch one first.
3 LAST SHOT LEETON 10YO is another up from Maryland for this. Recent form is a bit mixed, but when good, the horse shows some speed. By all rights, he should fit with this bunch, but A Nap did opt elsewhere. Trainer: Raced good last at Rosecroft despite road trouble. Has raced well at the Big M in the past.
4 KEEP GOING Picked up a check last time, so that's usually a good thing for this warrior. I don't think he's good enough to win this, but check chances remain. Odds will be fair.
5 HELLO HOT SHOT IF you argue that he needed that first go here to acclimate, okay. The post is better. He's faced better at times. Has shown a touch of speed in the past. A big 'ol maybe if the odds are fair.
6 BAGGAGE CLAIM A tad too aggressive last time, but those things happen. Horse has rounded into form willingly over past month, so he's not a toss out. New driver with Jimmy sidelined. I would like to see the same speed.
7 THE ROCK Now makes third start back off the layoff, which is often most potent. However, until barn sends out a "live one," I'm being cautious. This horse will wake back up soon, but we all might have to guess when.
8 RING WARRIOR Another that got a check from a tough spot last week. Okay. Unfortunately, this post still stinks and he will need a few things to go his way. Can never count on that from out here.
9 URBAN RENEWAL A Nap opted here and I can see why. Has worked his way steadily down the class ladder and was okay in that blowout by Bruce last time. This is the right spot, but he will have to overcome the post. Probably will.
10 VOICE OF TRUTH The "other" taking a class drop, but his form isn't nearly as good-looking. Still on the comeback trail after long layoff, so let's see if he goes anymore forward tonight.
12 Twelfth Race Entries
Picks: 7-8-9-1
H Horse Comment
1 MOJARRA HANOVER Yes, she did "hang" a little near the end of that race last week, so that does worry me! It was a step in the right direction, though. Gets the rail again and should be close enough to deliver bigger kick.
2 ODDS ON MAGIC Steps up here upon arrival. I think these are too tough, so I want to watch one. Not just yet.
3 CICELY HANOVER Off the layoff here, and pretty tired in that qualifier. Tells me she's not quite ready yet.
4 HERETIC FRANCO N Delivered a bit better effort last time, but she's not the most consistent mare ever. I guess when things set up for a closer, she has a rallying chance. One of the big "maybe's" in here.
5 SAM Sam won just twice all of last year, so I'm not really considering her for the top spot. Tends to grind and rally into races, sort of like #4. One of them will probably get lucky and get a trip. Have to figure out which one.
6 ELECTRICITY The recent gaps between starts are always a concern. 11YO broke in the Philly finale, so that worries me too! Not sure I can hop on board her boat just yet. I really would like to see a good one here first.
7 TRUTH ISALWAYSBEST Actually wasn't bad against Charming Hill twice, so that makes her the favorite in a spot like this. Brett takes the call back, so in a race full of question marks, you have to like this lass. Should step it up here.
8 DUNESIDE LIFE Got tortured when last seen a few weeks ago. Scratched last week. Gets stuck with a rough post here, but lately, speed has been her game. Can she make the lead in here? If yes, her upset chances go way up.
9 MISS DEFIANCE Exits the claimers for this seemingly easier spot. Gets a driver change too! She was okay against this sort down at Philly, so let's look for an improved effort out of her. Going to need some speed to enter the fray.
10 UILLEANN Retains large longshot status, with the difficult switch to the toughest post. Would need a dream journey to have a chance to shock these.

1 DONOMONI One of three in here that are sale bound! Let's just hope the horse gets around onstride tonight. Didn't do that in the first go here, so maybe we're asking a lot.
2 O'DOYLE RULES Out of the amateur races and back into a real one. Brett Miller chose this gelding over #9, and any of those Philly efforts would be good enough to threaten. Not sure what the price will be with Miller on. Not big.
3 LITERALLY Hip #125 in 10 days. Recent form not exactly outstanding, so tough call here. Definitely a longshot.
4 BROADWAY FANTASY That wasn't a bad try in first go here. That field looked tougher than this one. I thought Nap would opt here, but we get Joe B and that's okay. He should fit this grinding mare well. Only needs smooth trip. Trainer: Gave a good effort last week, hoping she improves on it.
5 PASSTHECROWNAROUND This was Nap's choice and that surprised me. Off several weeks, and a couple of tiring efforts down at Philly. That doesn't exactly bode well for her mile track stamina here. I'll let her beat me, if she can.
6 MR MONTGOMERY Broke in debut here. That's never a good thing. I guess we'll all pass after seeing that.
7 YANKEE DOODLE ANDI Not exactly going great guns right now. Shows the odd miscue here and there. None of the other recent races inspire me. Probably going to prefer others for now and see if any improvement is coming.
8 CASAUBON Hip #108 in the sale and coming off just a fair qualifier. Barn will get this start, and maybe one more to impress any potential buyers. A Nap opted off, so I will do the same for tonight.
9 ZETTE MINX Also MIA for a few weeks since Philly closed. Her form down there wasn't very good, so I can't be too positive about her chances from a nine-hole here upon arrival. Would need big improvement.
10 ACES AND EIGHTS Now on Lasix. Geared up just enough charge to take the qualifier. Billy The Mann will take a turn in the seat and it's his job to get this gelding away onstride. If he does, horse has big chance from there. Trainer: Qualified good, but got a bad draw.

1 NYANNA HANOVER Unraced for a few weeks, and nothing in her recent form makes me think she can hack it heere. The rail helps, but she'll need a lot more kick to get closer.
2 LOTUS SEELSTER Lots of second-place finishes on her resume, so that's a problem. I thought this NW3 level might be too much, but she did get a check for Brett last time. Unfortunately, this time, Brett chose #3. Very telling.
3 ZANE HANOVER Must admit, I was impressed with her rocketing out of the pocket couple weeks ago! The lightbulb really went on. She's not exactly catching the world's toughest NW3 on hike up. Might be good enough again. Trainer: Missed a week and up in class. The post and driver work, needs a little luck, however.
4 NANCY MALINDA Brett also drove this lass last time, but opted for another tonight. Still a big lonshot.
5 PIRAEUS Raced well here twice, and was A Nap's pick. Both very positive signs. She doesn't seem to have much speed, so this post is essential. Will wait for flow, and then try to rally. Might not be that easy, vs Zane.
6 BRAIDA HANOVER We can probably give her a pass for the first start here. It was from bad post and she made no impact. That race didn't set up for her style. Kind of same boat as #5. If flow is live, she could get a little closer.
7 GIMME SOME LOVIN' Chased Purity around the track two weeks ago, but was not flattered when that foe came back to lose. With that said, this does look like tougher spot, and price won't be big. Maybe we swing against at low odds? Trainer: New addition to the barn. Trained well and acts good. Looking for a good effort from her.
8 PETAL TO THE METAL I guess if you wanted to swing for the fences, you could play this mare. She did have decent finishing pace from a long way back. Showed she liked mile track. But, it's same post, and lacking pace scenario.
9 MONICA GALLAGHER I thought A Nap would take this mare for Burke. Wrong again! Had every chance with a very soft, rated pace in last and she still got tired. Needs more of an "off the pace" trip, even from tough post.
10 NORTHERN FIESTA Is she ready off two month layoff? Wasn't terrible in the qualifier, but definitely appeared to need the start. I suspect she might need one more, so I'll prefer others with better posts.
