1 ALLBLACK STRIDE N Certainly didn't look like the same horse we saw at the end of December. But, since he's right back in the box again, I'll assume he'll be ready to go. Want to see that kick he offered a month ago. Vicious.
2 CENTURY CHURCHILL Took a more aggressive try at it last week, attacking first over. Didn't quit that badly, which caught my eye. Gets a key inside post now, but is forced to step up in class. Not sure he's this good.
3 MR D'S DRAGON Gets much needed class relief here, after being stuck in that very tough field last week. This is about where he belongs and I fully expect him to step up with a very positive effort. May even be the one to beat.
4 PONYTA BOY I thought he had a little sniff in there last week and Billy D put a strong drive on him. It's good to know that the Boy does possess a little speed if pilot wants. Right back at it here, but he might take back and wait now.
5 ELRAMA N Just forget about his last race. Things clearly didn't work out for him that night, but he remains pretty sharp. This post will make things interesting. Any hot pace, or live cover, sets up his kick. Not completely out of it. Trainer: Raced very good last start from an impossible spot. A repeat of that form will make him major player here.
6 STARZNHEAVEN Ended up with a dream journey last week, given a perfect and patient drive from A Nap. Now, it's Yannick that takes over again and horse will need similar journey. Won't be 15-1 this week, however. Your call?
7 JK WILL POWER Could very well be the key to the race! Why? Because I don't see him just taking back to last again. Gets a new driver, with Brett obligated to #3. Been super sharp of late and debuts for the new barn after sale. Go!

1 URBAN RENEWAL Probably needed that last start on Friday, after missing several weeks. He was well bet and raced well enough. Anything more, and this likely the one to beat from the pole, as Nap's choice over #7 tonight. Trainer: Raced good last week and should be right there.
2 VICTORYDAZE WILWIN Hasn't been much good of late, but is always subject to wake back up. I'll still pass.
3 SOUTHERN PURSUIT N Used pretty hard early last time, but now makes second start at the reduced level, from a much better post. That will be the key here. Marcus is familiar with him and any smooth trip gives upset chance.
4 PARTY JAMMER Outraced his odds last week, by hitting the board t 87-1. That's not bad But, things did set up for the ralliers in there and he benefited from a smooth trip. Might not be that fortunate again, but ya never know.
5 DANISH DILIGENCE Doesn't find his way to the winner's circle all that often, but is exiting claimers for this potential softer spot. Has yet to take a real shot here, so maybe tonight's the night? Likely to offer a big price if you want swing.
6 SUPER S YZERMAN Still seems a little overmatched with these on the big track. I will pass once again.
7 CRUISERWILLWIN Is it wakeup call time for this fella yet? Barn still firing on all cylinders. This is third time Lasix, but A Nap chose #1. Can't like that. Should we watch the tote board for any clues? Maybe.
8 LIVE ON Off since late December. Had a tour of the track in the qualifier, but wasn't bad. Gelding has worked his way down to the bottom level of the class ladder and will wake back up soon. But, maybe not tonight. I'll wait a start.
9 HELLO HOT SHOT I really thought he would get closer, now at this low level. But, he's had a few chances now and reverts back to a difficult post. Wasn't Brett's choice, so I don't think he will be mine from this spot. Tough call.
10 HOPE FOR BADLANDS Brett opted here, and I can't blame him for that. However, after just missing last week in a possibly weaker spot, I'm not sure I can endorse from post 10 at a short price. This post ruined him two back. Trainer: We are starting from a tough post, but he is coming into form.
3 Third Race Entries
Picks: 2-4-10-1
H Horse Comment
1 DOWNUNDERMATTER Finally put it all together to get a much deserved win! So, now he begins the ascent back up the class ladder. It's not going to be easy, plus he faces a few that are dropping, like #2. I don't expect big price. Trainer: The horse is sharp right now and I'm very happy Marcus stayed with him.
2 MONTALBANO BI Been buried lately in some really tough spots. In reality, this is back where he belongs. I have a feeling we'll see the "real" Bi step back up here. Inside post keeps him close, and gives Jimmy some options. Trainer: Has post relief and should be okay.
3 STITCH IN TIME Simply put, he's just not good right now, so I will continue to pass until I see signs of life.
4 GOLD MEDAL SWAN That was a VERY good try last week. Ducked in and finished strongly to make a race of it, against well-rated winner. So, the Swan is back in top form and figures to make a move in here. Can be used.
5 ON THE PODIUM Not really sure if this is the proper level for him on the big track. The Mann gave him a decent enough trip and horse lacked knockout punch. Was also big price. Will simply have to find more to get any closer.
6 A JERSEY CONTRACT Also finally gutted out a win, but is forced into a double jump up the class ladder. I don't think that's going to work out too well for him, but ya never know. Sometimes, confidence builders help a lot.
7 ASHES CASH Needed one more inch of racetrack to get to #1 last time. 8YO is good right now, but he is a one-trick pony. Can only rally, so timing and trip are always critical. Not sure what price will be, but demand fair value if like.
8 XTATIC HANOVER Been out of action a long time, folks. And that last try over at Yonkers was a real clunker. Was well bet that night too! I don't really know what to expect from him, but note he gets Super Brett. Very mixed feelings.
9 DULUTH Third horse in field coming off a win, but against much lesser. This double jump up move doesn't work too often, and he gets slammed with post nine. I just don't think he can beat these from way out here.
10 ROUNDTOWN ROCKER Now what do we do with this fella? With many in here jumping up in class, this guy is dropping. Crunched these two back with a potent rally. I guess it'll be up to A Nap to get him into the game out here.

H Horse Comment
1 LONG BEACH The gaps between races are always a concern for me. Plus, he really wasn't all that great back on the 23rd. He's not my type of horse, so be careful if you get stuck with any kind of short price. Brett did choose over #4,7.
2 ROLLING SEA One of two recently turned 3yo's in here. They are at a slight disadvantage in some cases. This fella did show some talent up at Monti and deserves a big track try. Let's see if he's good enough. Nap chose here over #6,10.
3 BAG PIPE MAJOR Didn't really belong in that last race, and you can see how it turned out. This event is a combined NW2/NW3, so it's still pretty tough. Not sure I can hop into his corner in current form.
4 CLOUDED VISION Was bothered a bit in turn one upon arrival. Probably didn't matter. A lot to prove here.
5 SHRINKWRAP I thought this guy might wake up a little in that spot last week, but he did not. Corey saved ground with him and had no pop at the end. A LOT more than that needed to get any closer.
6 STONEDUST Tough call here. Why? Because he was actually very good in December, before getting a few weeks off. That comeback qualifier was a little better than it looks on paper. Has ability, and a nice closing kick at times.
7 J K FIELDING Here's the other 3YO. Debuts for new connections after a purchase. Barn has done very well with horses like this over time. Look at that qualifier he comes out of. Bettor's Edge. Soho Wallstreet. And, he was good!
8 BET THE DRAGON Took a very aggressive speed try for Vinny G last week and almost got the job done. I like the way he dug in till the end. Same strategy coming tonight? I'd have to think so. Send him, see what happens.
9 WHATA TWIST Another that was somewhat disappointing last week. Andy put him in a good spot and horse failed to rally much. Now, it's out to much tougher post and he lacks speed. That's not a good combo.
10 ASTON HILL DAVE Nap was pretty aggressive with Dave last week and they paid the price a bit late. Now, horse gets slammed with a post 10 assignment and he opted off. A bit inconsistent, so I really don't know what to expect tonight.

1 YOUDA SHARK Had every chance from this post last time at long odds and failed to deliver any knockout punch. Same spot here, but maybe even lesser price since Brett opted here. Still not my kind of play, until I see a lot more.
2 TERROR OF THE NITE Got cooked in a hot pace last week and paid the price. With that said, it's been several used hard efforts in a row, so it might be time to give this guy an easy one. Let him sit early, try to rally? A maybe.
3 WORKANDPLAYHARD Takes the drop back to the level where he won, so keep that in mind. Trainer listed Miller, but didn't get him. The post is ideal to give pilot options. Looks like the one to beat, but don't expect much price. Trainer: Dropped him down a class. He trained great and is feeling good.
4 DRUNKEN TERROR Came flying home from an impossible spot, against impressive winner. I still can't believe that rally! It was a bit out of nowhere, though. A fluke? Or is horse about to get good again? Wish I knew.
5 REAL ROCKER Didn't show a whole lot in first go for new barn. No worries. I suppose he will start to turn the corner soon and show more. Otherwise, they might have to drop and race him at Freehold. Only other option.
6 BAGGAGE CLAIM Put it all together here two back against lesser. Used really hard against the better field last time and tired understandably. This should be softer and his trip to the lead could be lot easier. That helps the cause. Trainer: Does not like to chase, so I will keep dropping him until they chase him.
7 BAY RUM Got a check last time we saw him here, so maybe that's the goal again? Still looks like longshot to me.
8 MAGIC TRICKS Kind of got caught up in traffic couple weeks ago. I made a note to try him again, if spot looked right. Not sure this is it, however. Loses Jimmy and gets stuck with wide draw. I guess if he's good, we'll see speed.
9 BUCKEYE IN CHARGE Can only win if the race sets up for a deep closer. And there are plenty of those in here. 11YO is in for the tag for first time in forever. Any takers? Maybe.
10 JOJO JOVE It's really not fair that you can draw post 10 in THREE straight races! There should be some kind of rule against that. With that said, he's overcome it with a couple of good efforts. Let's see if The Mann can get him a trip.

1 BIG TOP HANOVER Launched a move last week, only to flatten out. Continues to plummet down the class ladder, so a wakeup call seems imminent. Thought it might come last week. Didn't. I'm just guessing now.
2 ALWAYS A DIAMOND This level still looks a little too steep for him. I will take a pass again in this spot.
3 MASTER OF PUPPETS He's pretty good right now. Had some pace when he split rivals last week. Kind of proved that he could hack it at this level, so taking another shot. I guess it's all about pace and trip. Needs both to do well.
4 SOUTHWIND GENERAL Turned in a pretty good try last week. Came first over. Eventually got past the leader and was fighting willingly all the way to the wire. Likely to be favored, or close to that again with Yannick back aboard.
5 MAJOR WAR Been a little buried lately at a higher level. This is probably right where he belongs. Love the post, and potential for good trip in the flow. Don't be shocked if he jumps up with a big one for Eric A. Price play? Trainer: Eric gave him a super drive. Only needs a little racing luck to have a great shot.
6 MAJOR LEGACY I guess I'm getting tired of chasing this guy, but should I give one more chance, since he drops yet again? There is enough potential speed in here to set up his kick and a rally. Still needs more to get it done.
7 PREPARTY Just when I thought he would take an easy one off the layoff, he fired from the gate. If anything, that should tighten him up. Horse has beaten these in the past. Will pilot send again? I wish I knew answer to that.
8 WICK N Trainer basically told us he would need one. That's what happened in first go for new barn. Similar kind of situation here, but I wonder if one was enough? He might need another, or a class drop. Eligible for lower. Trainer: Was okay first start back. Hope he goes better with that start under him.
9 SAMS TRIPLE CROWN I think we all remember how good Sam was here last year. Yes, he did tail off towards the end. But, how do you classify the immense drop here? Also off since Dec. 23. Is he ready or not? Wish I knew that too!
10 P H KENNY That was a massive effort two weeks ago! It was so good, I don't even have words. I guess he deserved the week off. Now, he's in for same tag, but loses Yannick. Post 10. Is he going to be that good again? Probably.

1 ENDEAVOR That was a very smart drive from Patrick last week. With nobody else leaving, and a big favorite that showed closing efforts, he sent this fella to an easy lead, and a down the road score. Now, he steps up too much. Trainer: He seems to be getting better every week. Trained well on Wednesday.
2 SWEET BEACH Finally gets away from the raging Western Joe, so give a little extra credit here. Raced very well two back, but is the Preferred level just a little too much? Might be. Might save that burst for the stretch tonight.
3 SWING CITY Seems razor sharp right now for Scotty D, and he opts to take a big track try. Horse won 11 times last year, including on a big track at Hoosier. Have to expect he'll be a fit here. Might offer square price too! Trainer: Nice horse, but this seems to be a tough race.
4 POLAK A This is a true, honest 10YO warhorse. Scooted around Club Med in that solid qualifier. Usually good for one big move in a mile, but he has been off since November. Can't guarantee he'll be fully cranked and ready yet.
5 BETTOR'S EDGE Yes, I guess he probably "needed" that race last week, and the trip certainly didn't work out. Guess what? It'll be back to the speed tonight and he usually gets pretty brave if left alone. Has to get the jump on #7
6 AWESOMENESS Off a month. New barn. Trainer usually has them ready, but wouldn't we like to have seen at least a qualifier here? Or, will this first start here be his qualifier. I'm going to take a shot and guess he ain't ready. We'll see.
7 SWEET ROCK Easily the key to the race here. Brett opted to #5, so that concerns me. Raced his eyeballs out against Soto last month and never stopped trying. Same thing here, but he will have to try and track down #5. Not gonna be easy!

1 SUTTON SEELSTER Barn firing on all cylinders right now, but this is a pretty big step up in class. Brett chose over #4,7, but I expected that. I guess I'll add a few points if Urban won 2nd race tonight. Looks like the one to fear. Trainer: Big horse appreciated the move to the big track. Great post tonight and Brett sticks with him.
2 EVEIL DUN CHAMPION Woke back up in a big way last time, with a crisp rally from a tough spot. I like the post relief, but we're probably not going to get that big price anymore. Can he follow #1 for a trip? That would make it work.
3 NORTHERN ASSASSIN A Battled bitterly through wild fractions last week and note how he didn't quit! That caught my eye. I suspect Nap will find a way to make this trip a little easier, and his chances go up. Best effort required.
4 GIVEN UP TERROR Retains longshot status in these claimers. They look just a little too tough for this fella.
5 KOTARE YAEL N Turned in a better effort last time, so that might lure me back into his corner. When the horse is good, he can go with these, but sometimes he needs a trip too. Midpack post is usually perfect for him. Usable.
6 VICTORY AT LAST Gets stuffed out of that lower class again, so he's forced to tackle these claimers. Not good enough, so I rate him a longshot with these.
7 ROCKET J Got shuffled in the first go for new barn, but I did like the pace he flashed late along the inside. I didn't expect Brett to take him tonight, so that doesn't bother me. This is funny horse, but new barn might be helping.
8 FLEM N EM N When he finally got out of traffic last week, I thought he'd have a burst. He did not. Moves back outside to the tougher post, so that's a problem too! Is Corey going to send him? If so, chances do go up.
9 SIX GUN Transitions over to claimers tonight, and I'm not sure that's a good thing. Didn't really make any moves last time and rallied from back before that. Is he coming from last? If so, I doubt he can sweep them all.
9 Ninth Race Entries
Picks: 6-10-5-3
H Horse Comment
1 WAR-N-MUNN Didn't look very ready in that qualifier, so I think we can safely pass on him for now.
2 LOTS OF LOVIN Been all over the place on the class ladder, but hasn't found the right spot yet. Gaps between races are always a concern for me. Not sure I can hop on board his boat, until I see more.
3 JOHNNY Q Gets a touch of much needed post relief, so maybe we can expect more from Johnny tonight. He has flashed speed for Austin before in spots like this. Hoping he offers some kind of price, but might take action.
4 TRACK MASTER D Not exactly going great guns right now in current form. It's technically a slight drop, but I can't predict a total turnaround. I think that's what he needs to enter the fray and try for upset. Not my type just yet.
5 SIR MACHALOT Inches back down a notch in class, and that speed must always be respected. Not sure what the pace scenario will be in this wide open race, but the Sir will be part of it. Give him the right trip and he can probably win.
6 HUG THE WIND N Debuts in North America off a better-than-it-looked qualifier. I will pick him, but I will also caution that all three of Croghan's newcomers last weekend finished second. Will this one be ready to over the hump?
7 EVER AGAIN MIA for several weeks, which always worries me. That was a pretty dull effort last time too, so maybe he was sick? Regardless, I don't think Beyer will have him primed and ready for this one, so I am willing to wait.
8 CALVIN B Been a real mystery to me over past couple of months, so I'm not endorsing here. Cal has to show me a little something before I can even consider him again. Corey's back, but so is another bad post. Your call? Trainer: Hasn't raced in almost a month, but has been training good. Could get a good piece with the right trip.
9 DAVID'S DREAM Usually needs a few things to go his way to have a chance and this may not be the spot. Corey opted off. The post is bad and he doesn't usually leave. Will need a lot of luck to overcome this post and shock. Trainer: Drops down this week and trained good, but only downfall is the post.
10 MEDIEVAL DRAGON I really do hate when I guess wrong. Left two back and raced very well. I thought he'd fire out again last week, but he did not and never entered the fray. Yannick back aboard. It's time to show speed again.
10 Tenth Race Entries

H Horse Comment
1 YO CHEYENNE ROCKY One of the many possibilities in this impossible-to-handicap race. This is the mid-range level where he can do some good. Gets a good inside post. Gets Yannick back aboard. Wouldn't talk you off Rocky.
2 QUALITY BUD Set a WILD pace last week for some unknown reason. Ended up stopping as expected. This is back to the level where he belongs, and I do envision a different kind of trip. A smooth one give him a chance.
3 BRICKMAN I'm really not a fan of the way this gelding is going right now, but barn keeps stuffing him back in. I "suspect" the wakeup call will come one of these weeks, but we'll all have to guess when. Good luck with that. Trainer: He's ready! Finally tight. Should be heavily involved from the get go.
4 J T After a slow start, this guy ran into a few traffic issues in first start for new barn. Took a lot of the tote action that night, but just wasn't aggressive. With that under his belt, it might be time to show more. Will he get bet again?
5 YANKEE HEAVEN Been showing nothing on the track lately, so I will continue to pass until I see more.
6 DUNE DUDE Note the new barn here. Team Harmon is usually excellent with any acquisition. Horse has been flat for a long time now, so he probably needed a new home. We'll see if they can improve The Dude dramatically.
7 GRAVE DANCER Also kind of got "stuffed in" last week, behind that perfectly rated pacesetting winner. Brett never had a chance to gear him up. With that said, don't expect 14-1 this time. And, the post is a little tougher. Your call?
8 THE FIRE WITHIN Got parked out last week, and possibly rightfully so, since he was 67-1! With that said, Vinny opted to #2 this time and I suspect this gelding won't be taking any shots. Probably coming from too far back in pack.
9 TWINCREEKS JESSE Every once in a while, you just scratch your head and turn the page. How he won last time, I cannot explain, but it snapped a pretty long losing skid. Now, it's up in class, a bad post and Vinny is off. Pass.
10 ROCKIN RAMBARAN Both McDermott horses off the layoff looked pretty short last week. This guy ended up with a great trip too, but squandered it. Not exactly "rewarded" with this post. Will need a whole lot more to get closer. Trainer: Was disappointed in his effort. Was loaded with pace until the driver pulled him. Will change bridles tonight.
11 Eleventh Race Entries

1 MARTIAL BLISS Used way too hard in that pace battle last week. No worries. It's a move all the way inside, so that gives Pat many more options. This horse could very well be a live longshot in here. Needs a trip to do it, though.
2 WINGSONG GORGEOUS Absolutely jogged again last time and Nick was in the claim box to take him. Note he only bumps him up one notch in price and that's probably the right move. Drew a great post. The one to beat? Yes.
3 ALONEINSPADES Was outracing his odds with those check-getting efforts, and then ran out of steam last time. I guess he can always bounce back, but I'm not counting on it. Will also be out and in the flow. It has to be live.
4 INTRIGUED INTENDED I keep waiting for a wakeup call on this fella, but we all probably have to guess when it's coming. Mr. Longshot seems overdue to shock us with one. Maybe this guy?
5 SHOW ME UP Now I have to wonder if this guy has tailed off. After a good roll early last month, he hasn't been the same horse last few weeks. So, with that said, I am now off the bandwagon until we see more. Your call?
6 IDEAL SHADOW Corey chose here, over #3, but that was expected. Horse got used up in the pace battle last time before weakening late. When I look at this field, I see pace from #2 and this guy. Have to expect a send from gate.
7 EVERY INTENTION Had a good bit of pace when he finally shook loose last week. He's been good for a while now, so I hesitate to leave him out. Does move to a slightly tougher post here, and this race might not have a lot of pace in it.
8 DR C'S Z TAM Was the biggest beneficiary of the pace battle last time, and swept on by to a 33-1 shocker. Got lucky. Will it happen again? Probably not, but ya never know. Won't be those odds again, so it's a tough call. Not for me.
9 YANKEE ARTILLERY Probably still eligible for that lower class, but ends up in this claimer instead. For that, he gets slammed with post nine, so that's a big problem. I guess I have to rate him a longshot. Trainer: Had a ton of pace last start behind a wall of horses. Post isn't great. Trip will determine outcome.

1 BRUCE'S MAGIC Brett certainly gave him every chance last week, sailing along at a very hot pace. Horse may have been "too fired up?" He still raced well, just got a little tired. Facing full field from rail. He'll be sending again.
2 IAMMRBRIGHTSIDE N Best known for his stout closing kick. Was very, very good last year, until tailing off a bit at the end. Got a well-deserved freshening and just a fair comeback qualifier. I don't think he's ready yet.
3 JACKSRLUCKYTOO Note the post relief here, so that probably puts Jack back in play. Jack would also like it if Bruce sets a very fast pace again. Jack likes to rally, so it's all about pace and trip for him. It just might work out well. Trainer: I think he needs class relief to jumpstart his attitude. It's tough on him, and on his style of racing.
4 EXPRESS STRIDE N Didn't really take an aggressive try last week, so I won't hold that against him. I will note, though that Brett chose #1 this week. Could be telling us a little something, but don't be shocked if this one's right there!
5 COMMENTARIAT I guessed wrong on this fella last week. That was some eye-catching sweep of the field, and a good, strong drive from Beyer. Noel had him ready! Facing different kind of group here. Will have to go even faster.
6 ME EUROMAN N Had a good, acclimating mile for Camp Croghan last week. If anything, it seemed like Andy drove conservatively to get the horse a race over track. And, by default, they almost won. Should be a LOT tighter now.
7 HEADLIGHTS ON Can't really fault this gelding right now. Every Big M start has been a good one for Cross. Marcus fits him well. I guess my only knock here is that this is a stronger bunch. Might need all of that speed to have chance.
8 MISTER TRUTH Forced up in class, and without a recent win. That's not going to work out. A pass for me out here.
9 K-LEES-SHAKENBAKE Debuts for Burke Brigade after the buy. Might have his work cut out, because horse tailed off badly over last two starts. So, with that said, I guess I want to watch one and see what happens. Any improvement?
10 AIR STRIKE Another that did not take an aggressive try last week and look what he draws again? The outside post. That's almost not fair, but nothing we can do about it. Horse has talent, if pilot can somehow get him into the game.

1 ST LADS MOONWALK First start back off a layoff. Slated to add Lasix, as he had in the qualifier. It was a pretty good effort too, despite a very tough trip. There is some back class to work with, but is he A-1 ready? I'm guessing no.
2 BRIGADOON Had a great trip last week and just not enough punch to get it done. Forced up in class off that and meets another of the Croghan newcomers. Not sure this one's going to work out, but he did draw better post.
3 BLOW A CLOUD N Berry "loses" the drive on #7, because he must steer this one. Looks like a longshot too! Pass.
4 ART HISTORY Another Burke Brigade purchase. I had been implying that horse had tailed off. Therefore, I have absolutely no idea what to expect tonight. If he's good, he has chance. I'll probably swing against, though.
5 SPRINTER N I think if you saw him pace the final eighth last week, you'll safely be back on board tonight. Was absolutely airborn, and only the slow pace scenario cost him the win. Probably a cinch tonight, from perfect post. Trainer: Happy with his first start. A repeat makes him a factor.
6 SPICEBOMB Getting a small dropdown in class, but this is NO easy spot. Brett takes the call. Horse had to need his last after missing several weeks. If he gets to follow #5, that would be great cover. That's the recipe here.
7 BAD BOY BRAD A Had just enough "sneaky" pace in last to warrant the extra look. It's dangerous to leave anything from this barn out. I'm not telling you he will try to leave here, but I am telling you he WILL finish well. Live!
8 VILLE VALO Has now had two starts to get legs back underneath. I don't think this is the right spot for big wakeup call, but it will be coming soon, so pay attention for signs of life. Trainer: Hasn't been bad in first two starts back, just tough posts. He's solid, and should appreciate the drop in class.
9 ALL WEEK Not in a good spot out here, losing the post help. Sat right behind winner last week and was barely keeping up. I just don't envision him sending from this post, but ya never know. A longshot again.
10 BLAISE MM HANOVER What's The Mann going to do from post 10 here? Horse fired out last week at Yonkers and almost got job done. That's a big hint that horse is coming around again. This is a drop, so will he send?
