Mohawk Simulcast Selections – Saturday, September 15, 2012

Race 1

7-That’s The Life – classic case of a fresh claim by Moreau, 4yo with some upside shows positive signs & drops into a softer spot

6-Lookinforadventure – came back with two solid seconds, ran into a revved up Major Hottie in a 1:49 mile last out, owns a bit of back class

4-Flem N Em N – drops back to an effective level & draws better for his second start off a sick scratch

1-Watermelonwine – finally moves inside off a pretty solid rally with a  :54.1 and :27 flat

Race 2

6-Drop The Ball – bounced back off a couple of tough losses in the Roses Are Red & Golden Girls with a world record 1:48.4 at Harrah’s Philadelphia, might get the jump on The Show

7-Put On A Show – fastest female of all time with her 1:47.3 Lady Liberty has reeled off two straight at Mohawk, fresh from her decisive 1:48.3 romp in the Spring of Hope, obviously on her game now

2-Radar Contact – regaining her form since the August 10 sick scratch, :54 back half and home in :26.2 last week, now moves inside

4-Swinging Beauty – caught fire twice winning the Open this summer, strong pace at both ends chasing Rebeka Bayama, improved post

Race 3

2-Bee A Magician – Ontario star has won 6 of 8 with impressive acceleration, stalks a talented favorite in a marquee match-up & might be good enough to upset

4-To Dream On – undefeated five-for-five, including a Big M track record 1:54 Merrie Annabelle with a vicious rally, huge threat to take control or simply brush & crush

3-Shared Past – beaten favorite in the NJSS Final with an excellent effort from post 8, continues to improve from a better post

9-Handover Belle – scores points for winning 2 of 4, and note the :27.3 kicker at the Big M on August 2, but this is a tall order

Race 4

1-Sparky Mark – was scorched through a :52.4 half in the Preferred, Ontario Masters winner lands in a softer spot where he can dominate

5-Ideal Race – offered a strong indication with his last line, owns a few more seconds than we’d like to see, but this is his level + adds Tetrick

9-Warrawee Needy – stakes colt blitzed this kind with a :26.3 third quarter & 1:49.1 career best, tries to follow up from a tough post

8-State Treasurer – Summertime Series champ gets a reprieve from top stakes 3yos, chance to assert himself with a blast off the gate

Race 5

3-P L Earl – raced deceptively well behind Battleship Kelly after the long layoff & lame scratch, draws better & has faced tougher

4-Smokeys Luck – steps up off the claim chasing Battleship Kelly with a :26.4, post 4 again & retains Jody Jamieson

5-Lifeoftheoldboy – first in 3 of his last 4 for high percentage combo, can rebound off the disqualification & draws inside Monte Cristo again

1-Battleship Kelly – like Monte Cristo he suddenly lit up the board with a lifetime best, his 12 for 26 record this season is worth noting

Race 6

8-Major Hottie – unleashed a rousing comeback by equaling his career best 1:49 for Rick The Whip, could be the one to catch again

7-Hard To Mach – was tackling top level colts like Michael’s Power in OSS, caught too far back behind Bullet Speed last week

9-Bullet Speed – dropped to this level & came to life with a sudden speed display, note the wire-to-wire win back on July 21

3-Speed Again – appeared to be overmatched in the Simcoe, yet his two previous efforts against these were strong

Race 7

4-Knows Nothing – Hambletonian elimination winner left to be in position to nose out Gym Tan Laundry, seeks another stalking trip

1-Market Share – Hambletonian winner has not let up, he closed relentlessly in his elimination last week & rewarded with an inside start

3-Little Brown Fox – Takter’s main threat got the jump on a roughed up Market Share to squeak out another, logical with his speed

8-Guccio – Hambletonian runner-up added trotting hopples & put together a solid rally to hit the board for Takter

Race 8

6-Rebeka Bayama – Golden Girls winner & close runner-up in the 1:47.3 Lady Liberty fresh from a wire-to-wire paid workout

2-Anndrovette – went all the way in a world record 1:48.1 upset in the Roses Are Red, prepped for this with a big finish in the Spring of Hope

1-Monkey On My Wheel – 2011 Breeders Crown champ has come to form, chasing Put On A Show in her last two

3-Rocklamation – shows a good third in the Roses Are Red, used hard in her recent miles, needed her last start & draws better

Race 9

3-Wheeling N Dealin – $100,000 Harrisburg yearling is now an undefeated six-for-six, stablemate to Prestidigitator has easily dispatched his opposition & stands out again

4-Murmur Hanover – late-blooming OSS Gold champ can’t be faulted for his efforts chasing Wheeling N Dealin & has gone won 4 of 8

2-My Man Can – broke his maiden when the heavy favorite faltered, improving colt for Team Orange Crush earned his inside advantage

11-Aperfectyankee – Peter Haughton Memorial upsetter has burned the chalk with tough trips in his last two, now faces second tier

Race 10

1-Continual Velocity – regained her form with some recent class relief, switches to Tetrick & figures to be forwardly placed to stalk n pop

6-Big McDeal – finished second in a world record PASS Final at Pocono, returns home in a more suitable class & reunited with Jody Jamieson

2-Warrawee Koine – makes her second start off the bench in an easier condition & scored her last win with Randy Waples

7-Sarandon Blue Chip – NJSS champ & Miss New Jersey winner was left in the wake of American Jewel in the Simcoe, can rebound

Race 11

7-Aracache Hanover – given a reprieve from Free For All foes, torched through a record :52.2 half in the Derby

4-Bettor Again – has won two of his last three at this level with thunderous upset rallies, 1:48.2 career best last week off the hot pace

8-Classic Rock N Roll – shot home in a wicked :25.2 to win this two starts back, switches to Gingras who can find a way to get involved

5-Foreclosure N – aired it out through an amazing 1:19.3 setting up Bettor Again’s rally, look for Tetrick ration out his speed

Race 12

2-Scottiestrikesfame – took a mark of 1:51.4 before the recent layoff, caught in a 1:49 blowout in a much needed start

4-Anderlecht – equaled his lifetime best of 1:50 with a huge effort two starts back, toss out last week’s mile chasing Major Hottie in 1:49

3-Im Feelin Good – took a substantial drop in class & burned the cash when Anderlecht got the jump on him, big chance to atone

1-Just Crowned – ships in with some sharp miles on view from Hiawatha & Grand River, picks up Scott Zeron & lands the pole

RACE 13

2-Rock Solid – was dropping down the condition ladder before the lame scratch, decent qualifier behind the classy Up The Credit

7-All Tiger N – excellent speed try two starts back, drops & looks dangerous despite the 1 for 18 this season

8-Aled Hanover – returns from the Maritimes in solid form, switches to Tony O’Sullivan & adds Lasix

4-Whippet Good – 10yo woke up with a nice move last week, yet his 1 for 27 record is a concern
