Breeders Crown Night – 2015

RACE 1 – Open Mare Trot

7-Shake It Cerry – Two-time Dan Patch Award winner goes for her third straight Breeders Crown, freshened & tightened with a solid speed try in the Dayton Derby, classy mare owns the biggest kick in the field & could spark another huge night for Takter

5-Bax Of Life – Won a Crown elimination in 2013, rallied for a shocking upset over Classic Martine in the Miss Versatility Final at Delaware, finished a sneaky good third to D One in the Allerage & returns to home turf

6-D One – Shipped overseas & promptly pulled back-to-back upsets over Bee A Magician, bounced back with a decisive & sizzling 1:51.3 in the Allerage, any semblance of that mile makes her the one to reel in

8-Daylon Miracle – Stormed home to just miss at 61-1 against the boys in the Sebastian K Invitational, took a new mark of 1:50.3 over speedy Pocono on 9-12, no chance in her last two, very strong in the win column, longshot possibility

RACE 2 – Two Year Old Filly Pace

5-Yankee Moonshine – With breeder Charlie Keller III heading to the Hall of Fame she rallied like her sire and NA Cup winner Yankee Cruiser to a rousing elimination score, Gingras picked last year’s runner up Sassa Hanover over JK She’salady, this Burke trainee is peaking in time to turn the tables on the division standout

3-Pure Country – Pretty much steamrolled her way to remain unblemished under minimal urging in her Canadian debut and looks keen to give Brett Miller his first Crown trophy and Diamond Creek a well deserved homebred Crown champion, leading Crown trainer Jimmy Takter won this with undefeated See You At Peelers in 2010

1-Darlinonthebeach – Nancy Johansson won this last year with the undefeated Horse of the Year JK She’salady, this filly hasn’t missed the ticket in nine starts, runner up to standout LA Delight in the She’s A Great Lady and fresh off the mile of her life she was a solid second last week and lands the pole

10-Call Me Queen Be – This consistent filly was runner up to Pure Country in the PASS Final, was solid in Lexington and a very active second to Yankee Moonshine in her elimination, her stalking style gives her a chance to over come post ten and pounce off the speed

RACE 3 – Two Year Old Trot

5-Southwind Frank – Since 2006 seven of ten winners of this went on to be the Hambletonian favorite & four won, including his sire Muscle Hill, virtually flawless so far, freshened & followed up his world record of 1:52.2 in Lexington with an effortless elimination

3-Marion Marauder – Just recently broke his maiden at Woodbine & kicked home off a slow half to grab second behind standout Southwind Frank, steady Muscle Hill colt with home field advantage, in top form & rewarded with an inside post

6-Lagerfeld – Takter trainee first or second in eight of nine, took the bye after chasing Southwind Frank at The Red Mile, romped in the Bluegrass & pulled an upset in the PASS Final

7-Tony Soprano – Ontario bred came to life in his last two OSS events, trotted the mile of his life in a Super Final romp & has the Breeders Crown all time leading driver

RACE 4 – Three Year Old Filly Pace

2-Bettor Be Steppin – James Lynch & Valley Forge winner part of a wicked inside one-two punch for Joe Holloway, her elimination was merely an acclimating mile & her best weapon is controlling speed, yet look for her to leave & employ a stalking strategy

1-Divine Caroline – This Holloway trainee has really blossomed late in the season with an effective come-from-behind style, took a mark of 1:49.2 in the Allerage, then easily made it three in a row with a strong elimination win & looms large from the pole

3-Solar Sister – Prolific queen of the OSS program won the Super Final & came right back to take her elimination with another perfect drive by Doug McNair, who asserted she’s very good from off the pace & another ideal journey is likely from an inside draw

4-Bedroomconfessions – Has come around at the right time for Tony Alagna, sparked her win column with an off track score in the Bluegrass, had an outside post in the Glen Garnsey & offered solid pace from a tough spot in her elimination

RACE 5 – Two Year Old Filly Trot

4-All The Time – Takter has won this a record six times & was duly impressed by her stellar elimination, cruising without popping the plugs with Gingras, who won this last year with Mission Brief, may just need to establish command & it’s lights out

5-Haughty – Remained undefeated with a nice stretch lunge for Palone, Takter noted she’s got the gear with her mark of 1:54.1 at The Red Mile, will try to stalk n post past her stablemate

10-Caprice Hill – The Peaceful winner no worse than second in nine starts, was on quite a streak before running into All The Time last week, now she moves all the way outside seeking revenge, has too talent to dismiss however

7-Kathy Parker – Campbell was very aggressive with her from post eight at 30-1 last week & she still held third, versatile Takter trainee hasn’t missed the board in ten starts, runner up to Broadway Donna in the PASS Final will need a speed target here

RACE 6 – Three Year Old Filly Trot

3-Wild Honey – Hambletonian Oaks champ broke at 5-2 in last year’s 2YO final, but she’s back on her game with the Master Campbell, gunning down Mission Brief in the KFF in a career best 1:50.4, post advantage & momentum may give her a slight edge

6-Mission Brief – 2014 Crown winner was a valiant second against the boys in the Hambletonian, was able to dominate a parked out Wild Honey in the Elegantimage, works her way to the top & tries to hold on with the division title on the line

1-Elegant Serenity – Ontario hopeful was well behind the top two in the Elegantimage, a decent second by a neck from post ten in the OSS Super Final, got to go back to 1992 when Mayotte paid $92.40 with Kingsbridge at Northfield Park

4-Speak To Me – The Takter back up plan in here has been pretty steady, a good second to Elegant Serenity in the Simcoe, closed from far back to win her Buckette division, she has to hope for some kind mayhem to ensue for any chance

RACE 7 – Two Year Old Pace

1-Racing Hill – Late-bloomer from the first crop of Roll With Joe has handily won three in a row on Lasix, crushed Travel Playlist just before romping in his elimination with speed at both ends, headlines an Alagna dynamic duo from the rail

3-Control The Moment – Understandably a bit short fresh off the bench, yet still held off long shot Pretty Boy Hill, the undefeated Metro champ commands the utmost respect, but some other freshmen are catching up & this race hasn’t been kind to favorites

2-Spider Man Hanover – Set a world record of 1:51.4 at Delaware, then added Lasix & ran into the Alagna pair in his next two, put forth an excellent speed display last week & his inside draw figures to put him in play

5-American Passport – The other Tony Alagna prospect peaking at the right time, was giant in both starts at The Red Mile over off tracks & can easily see him being a part of the speed equation as Scott Zeron looks for his first Crown trophy

RACE 8 – Two Year Old Trotters

4-Muscle Diamond – Added Lasix & rallied for a mild upset in the Bluegrass, had too far to come from post ten in the Kentucky Futurity, regally bred colt has shown flashes of brilliance & may cash in with a Pinkman mistake & classic Campbell handling

1-Pinkman – Division standout goes for his second straight Crown fresh off two more major wins in the Canadian Trotting Classic & Kentucky Futurity, won the Hambletonian with back-to-back world record heats, last year Father Patrick gave Takter his fourth win in this event

11-Infiniti AS – That was a noteworthy wire-to-wire win in Lexington, makes his third start off the bench, brimming with confidence, has some upside & Tetrick & could surprise

6-French Laundry – Signaled a return to top form with his world record 1:53.4 in the Old Oaken Bucket, then a solid third in the Kentucky Futurity, his class obviously matches up with anybody in this division as part of a formidable Takter foursome

RACE 9 – Three Year Old Pace

5-Artspeak – 2014 Dan Patch Award winning freshman as good right now as he’s ever been, closed into a wicked :52.1 back half to nail Wakizashi Hanover last week after a gallant new mark of 1:47.4 in the Tattersalls

4-Freaky Feet Pete – The Indiana sensation, recent conqueror of Wiggle It Jiggleit & supplemental gamble unleashed an impressive first start outside his home state into a strong into a steady wind, remains a major threat if he can stalk & set up his vicious sprint

3-Wakizashi Hanover – The North America Cup winner capping a great season, was able to upset Freaky Feet Pete in the Jenna’s Beach Boy & was barely outsprinted by Artspeak last week, consistent gelding always in the hunt

1-Dealt A Winner – Cane Pace winner in a world record 1:47.3 regained his winning form in PA this month, forced to grind uncovered into a quickening pace chasing Artspeak, will look for the speed to cancel out

RACE 10 – Open Mare Pace

2-Sandbetweenurtoes – Has really come to hand in her three on Canadian soil since the vet scratch, fresh off a rousing rally in the Ellamony at Flamboro & draws inside for a pair of top guns

1-Colors A Virgin – 2014 Dan Patch Award winner was freshened for her Fall run, fresh off a pair of vigorous wins, the latest with sharp speed in the Allerage & lands the pole

9-Venus Delight – Has a serious shot at taking the division title after winning the Milton in :26.3, then freshening up with an easy qualifier, has the gate speed, class & form to overcome her outside assignment

6-Yagonnakissmeornot – Finished second in the Roses Are Red, roughed up in the Milton & moved prematurely in the Ellamony, steady mare may try to go down the road with Dube

RACE 11 – Open Trot

4-Bee A Magician – 2014 Horse of the Year seeks her third straight Breeders Crown & would vault past $4 million, off a nightmare trip in the Yonkers International, she got back to her winning ways in the Maple Leaf & Centaur & faces a field of question marks

2-Resolve – Hasn’t raced since his second to Bee A Magician as the beaten favorite [35 days], but note his relentless closing efforts at the Meadowlands, including a post ten win the Vincennes

6-Creatine – Second and third in his last two Crown finals, tried to steal the Yonkers International after shipping overseas, obviously needed that race, Takter will have him ready & Johnny will send him again

7-Master Of Law – The other Takter factor in here fresh off a big bounce back second in the Allerage, won’t be too far back in a short field & he can sprint with any of them

RACE 12 – Open Pace

5-Bettors Edge – One of five Burke trainees in here, has quietly sharpened his sword this Fall, was raging on the rail to grab second last week, owns the perfect stalking style, since 2003 no driver has done more damage in the Breeders Crown than The White Knight, bombs away!

8-JK Endofanera – This Takter terror was flying home from an impossible spot as the beaten favorite last week, posted a sterling rally for a mild upset in the Allerage, there figures to be plenty of speed for him to shoot at in this one & Super Brett could have a big night

3-Always B Miki – Remarkable comeback story from two major injuries, 2014 elimination winner scratched as the favorite in the final, I’ll never forget his amazing second in the Meadowlands Pace, Takter has him revved up from an ideal post

7-State Treasurer – While Always B Miki is fresh as a daisy this guy has had a long, tough campaign, the division leader got a bit too hot in Lexington, then couldn’t sprint with the top two last week, Canadian Pacing Derby champ has way too much talent to totally dismiss

RACE 13 – Jackpot Hi-5 Mandatory Payout – Carryover $557,274.02

2-Topcornerterror – Woke up to beat this kind with the mile of his life on October 3rd, then claimed by a high percentage barn & draws well, could pay immediate dividends for new connections

1-Crafty Master – Second start off the bench was a much better second, tighter now, remains down in class & lands inside again & owns a big kick

3-Hunch Man – Finished third behind Crafty Master last time from a tougher post, romped from a similar post on September 14 & ranks top contender status with a stalking trip imminent

4-Thepaninsulahotel – Weak in the win column, but still looms a dangerous class dropper, a solid second when last seen in this class on October 3rd

5-Rock Me Amastreos – Beaten favorite stepping up in class off a strong second, steady sort gradually rounding into form for an always dangerous barn
